Hi folks,

I've recently just downloaded this movie from sharereactor using EMule :

Die_Another_Day_(2002).CD1.dvl.DVD-Screener.ShareReactor - 716,614 kb
Die_Another_Day_(2002).CD2.dvl.DVD-Screener.ShareReactor - 715,908 kb

I've tried playing it on Windows Media player, and also on WinDVD platinum, but I still can't get any joy from it. The Movie starts by saying "This screener has been electronically encoded...blah blah blah" but then it's seems the image gets totally blurred one over the other mixing into each other and is totally un-watchable, i'm pretty sure I have the latest codecs n stuff. Has anyone ever encountered this? or can anyone gimmie some suggestions as how I might go about sorting this??

So does anyone know how to sort this out...I'd really like to watch a bit of bond

Thanks in advance!

CS

p.s. sorry I posted this on someone's verified thread, which was a mistake...so posting it here b4 i get a doo-in!

I am downloading this exact same files at the moment with eMule.

The release also included a sample file, which already was completed yesterday. That sample played fine for me. Great quality.

Do you have the same problem with that sample?

Very strange problem, Colt. I have the exact same files from emule, and it plays fine on my machine. It works with WMP, Zoomplayer, and mplayerc all in XP. The warning in the beginning was very amusing. I'm using DivXTotalPack1.2 for all my codecs.

Paul tbh I just deleted the that 10meg or so preview file...i just thought it was going to be a Trailer, so I got rid of it!! *d'oh*

Okay exactly what happens is when the movie starts I get a green screen then the message:

"THIS SCREENER HAS BEEN ELECTRONICALLY CODED TO ASSIST IN TRACKING ILLEGAL DUPLICATIONS. UNAUTHORIZED DUPLICATION OF THIS SCREENER IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN."....fades to another green screen....

This time with what looks like a black 'symbol' cut out of it and the words, and I'm quoting exactly :

"FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION."

Now it gets weird-tastic, ....so just cos i'm kinda ;) lazy and didn't want to have to describe in detail exactly what the problem was, I tried to take a screen shot, just pausing and taking a snap-shot then pasting it into paint...everythings going fine until I goto save, then the 'green whatever it is' disappears!!...and I mean from everything! From my save file, and from the actual paint screen i was trying to save! I've done it like three or four times and I just don't know what the hells going on?? Is it me or something i'm doing wrong? Now the screen shot is still there (cos I can see the movie window, with black boarders and all!) just not this bloody green.....WRfgsgf ARGHHH!H!U!I

WTF is going on!?!?!

p.s. before i smash my computer up i did notice that when I scroll the my screen shot up and down the green thing stays still....dissapering behing the black boarders of Windows media player..........*sighs* I've got a bad feeling about this....

OK I now re downloaded the sample file ....with windows media player I get a black screen with slow motion sound.

With Win DVD I get no pic and normal audio.

I give up! :(

Well, at least burn it to disc and try the files on a different machine to rule out a bad dl.

The files completed today and were working fine over here.

Damn I'm sooo jealous paul! :) My copy is completley shot! It's like the images superimpose over each other bluring together one over the other...

I tried the suggestion of uninstalling and reinstalling the Nimo Codec 5 build 8 and when putting it back on uncheck the ffd filters, which I have tried but still no luck. Is there is some sort of codec conflict going on? Or is it just me who d/l's copy protected dvd rips??? ;)

I'm going to uninstall all my codecs again then download zoom player and reinstall Nimo 5 build 8 and see if that helps.

With all my Nimo stuff uninstalled the movie plays back at normal speed (still doing the overlaying thing though) no sound

Is there certain stuff I should be checking/or unchecking when it comes to installing Nimo 5 build 8?

Anyother suggestions would be appreciated as I'm really at my wits end.

Sounds like an Xvid codec problem, nimo's codec pack seems to conflict with Xvid. If you can get hold of build 7 it is stabler, don't install the Xvid from Nimo, download http://www.vidomi.com/ the installer comes with a great version of Xvid. This sould put the errors right ;)

I'm sticking with the SVCD's versions of this won't get any conflicts that way.

Colt Seevers, does this blurryness continue during the whole movie?

Because I have a couple of movies with some small gitches, and those glitches look a bit like you describe.

Paul, unfortunatley yes the problem is throught the entire movie. I have seen this problem before as well, I think it was on the Spiderman DVD rip but it was for 1min at the most then it dissapered.

After some serious installing and uninstalling of various codec packs nimo 5 build 7 and 8....Win DVD.....it still wouldn't work.

My last attempt was to use Zoom Player--no joy...but Darkstar suggested Vidomi player (which BTW Im thinking of using as my default media player now) cos Microsoft Media Player just plain sucks in comparison....anyway with Vidomi player the film actually works!! Plays fine no blurryness or anything ...just NO god damn sound !

So now I CAN watch the film, just I can't hear it!!

Try some of the nimo audio codec's. Can anyone else who has this video identify what codec is used for the audio ? I have a copy of colateral damage which has some AC3 codec for the audio, I have never been able to get it to work, can anyone recommend a good AC3 codec ?

Here's an alternative to Nimo, which works with the lastest Bond flick:
DivXTotalPack1.2 (http://www.quellicheilpc.it/quelli02/download.php?op=getit&lid=306) (It's an Italian site)

 Hip Hip Hooray!

Got it sorted! :o Just uninstalled all my codecs, everything I had.

Then reinstalled the DivXTotalPack1.2, along with Zoom Media..with the Xvid!

Thanks for all the help guys! :)

Oh and not a bad film either, good quality and well worth all that messin about! !

Cheers

This pack might be a good replacement for the current Nimo pack.

But I have read that there is going to be a new build of Nimo soon, hopefully that is going to sort the problems that some people are having.
