is it normal for a 200 MB fle to take like 18 hours? I just got e-mule and when ever i try to download something ti goes on queue for like 5 hours then downloads at like 3 kbs. And they are popular files too.

I don't really think it's sposed to be normal, but from what I've experienced and from what I've heard from others, that is pretty normal..
It took me like over 12 hrs or so to get a 700 and some meg game (Hoyle Board Games 2003), fastest speed I reached was 20 kB/s, but that only lasted for like 5 mins, than it dropped back to like 5 or so kB/s..

what kind of a connection u have ? what r your ul/dl/hard limit/max connections settings in emule preferences ?
what version of emule r u useing?
regarding beeing on queue for a few hrs that happens (but only on rare files) but if the file is popular and u 30 connections and up your dl should get faster into the download a u get beter "qr" (better place in line)
sometimes people put huge numbers at the setting couse they think it will get them faster but it only slows them down
btw r ppl uploading from u ? at what speed?

people are uploading from me one at 12 Kbs one at 14 and one at 3 kbs. i am on cable internet. What should i put for the prefrences things? 1000 xonnections is the only thing that i think is right.

I think you would get more complete help in a Emule chat room or forum than here.
This forum is all about Kazaalite.

Well, the speed depends on how many sources there are. I mostly get around 3 kB/s from one source. Depending on how many ppl I have on queue for my files their d/l speed is my limit/nr of d/ling ppl. BUT the lowest speed is set at 3kB/s. I'd sure like a way to limit the number of available upload slots, but depending on what I set as u/l limit it will just either let ppl finish their d/l and keep the apropriate number of ppl so that all u/l from me gets 3kB/s or let in more ppl from the queue so all get 3kB/s. Dunno why it's so fond of those 3kB/s.
60 sources in not very popular too. I sometimes have 750 sources for a single file and even those download at just a couple kb/s.

I have ISDN 112K, and I've gotten at most 12K out of Kazaa++ (Even with 24 sources!!) <_<
But Emule... 3K is the max i've gotten yet.
