I have found a great little program that lets you preview your divx downloads without having to stop the download.
You can get it at www. avipreview.com (http://www. avipreview.com)
One hell of a way to check the quality of the file you are downloading and to prevent downloading fake ones.
Would be nice if the KaZaA Lite guys can add this to their installer! Its just 47K so size is no issue here..

I downloaded this and it works excellent, I did as he suggests and placed the exe in my share folder amongst all fo the dat files, when I get enough of the file done (to actually see a little bit) I just right click drag and drop on the exe and select open with, it loads and plays the entire portion (if I wanted) of what has downloaded thus far. SWEET, I recommend this to all, you do not have to pause anything, you can view them as they remain downloading, way cool.

That's not a bad program but i think this is better.
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download.html
Scroll down to windows and either download the zip or self .exe
It's not a bad little player as well.

video lan rules
KAZAA LITE PEOPLE cant add anytrhing to the program, as they can only remove spyware, do surface changes, and the like
I think Kewbase was suggesting it was added to the installer, not part of the prog.
But maybe a link could go on the downloads page.

I have tried the Videolan also, but Videolan cannot play the download dat files as far as I have found out.
AVIpreview can be used without having to change te extension. Much easier.
A little tip:
Put avipreview.exe in your shared folder. Leave KaZaA Lite running, open your Shared Folder and drag and drop the dat file of the movie you are downloading to aviprevie.exe
That's all there is to it.

Kewbase, Little Tip was posted in this string back when I said what a great program it was and how best to use it, but thats cool. :D I just thought you may want to insure you catch all of the posts on a string you created, this is the best way to make sure we all get answers to our questions should there be any, I mean I would have been heart broken had I asked a question back there to only be passed over by the originator. Just joking, please post anyhting you find to be of interest or importance to us all, thanks again, it is cool, just wish it workd for all vid files and not just avi's though.
PS- It works way better than VideoLan in my opinion, you can pretty much use this viewer to watch and enjoy all of your avi files before or after they download due to it's Quality pic and sound. I caught myslef getting interested in a currently downloading file (the pledge movie), I mean you can watch this without issue, it is very COOL.

This program is really nice! I like the way its only 47K and it views your movies really smoothly while they're still downloading. Thanks for the tip!

the problem is this:
i've downloaded a file eg. "movie.mpg" but i'm at 80% and i don't find the file no more,
but exist a file called "[divx]movie.mpg" with the same size (probably is the same, probably ;)).
now i can change something in my 80% .dat file to target it to the file called "[divx]movie.mpg"?
please help me
