View Full Version : Having Multiple Drives On The Same Computer

Hi all, I'd just like to ask a couple of questions about having more than one hard drive on the same computer, because I'm looking at getting a 40GB to replace/compliment my current 4GB.

1: Will I be able to have all of my applications and Windows files on the 4GB hard drive, and then all of my media and documents on the larger drive? I'd like to keep my current drive to store the essentials, and then use the larger drive for anything I download.

2: Are there any sites which can give me some basic info on how to set up Windows to work on multiple drives, or will Windows automatically do that stuff for me? I'd also appreciate any sites that can give me info on installation.

I think that'd about it. Thanks all! :D

It shouldn't be too hard, Windows'll do most of the work. Note that some older versions of Windows(95 and 98 I believe) can't use a 40 GB drive, but you can get around that. 4 GB should be enough for system files. Think about buying more than 40GB, you'll be surprised how fast you fill it with Kazaa.
