Hello all I'm a newbie thats been downloading some ISO version games. How do you burn a file that is an ISO.EXE? If it is a real ISO image Roxio will burn it but I don't know what to do with the ones that are "applications". Any tips or suggestions on ISO files would be GREATLY appreciated as I know almost nothing.

Sometimes, people will rename a file from iso to exe. For example, there are copies of MOHAA that has a iso.exe extension but is actually a bin. Don't ask why. BlindWrite will usually check the file and determine the correct format before burning, ignoring the extension. Some ppl report good results with CDClone, Daemon, etc. You should give the filename and filesize so people can recognize how they burned a particular file.

remove the .exe extension, make it file.iso, instead of file.iso.exe. You should be able to burn the iso image then.

Some files ending in .exe are compressed files, see if you can open them in a program called WinRar.

The .exe part has been added on by someone for sharing puposes. K-Lite doesn't show .ISO files in the software section, so if you add .exe it picks this up and moves it from "other" to "software" Can be confusing if you've never seen it before.
P.s I sometimes find it easier to open the .ISO file with ISOBUSTER or WINISO (both available on K-Lite) and burning the open files to disc, you dont need any fancy software for burning that way.

Hey thanks for all the help! I'll try all your suggestions! But one more question. How do you make a file a .iso from an exe? I tried just deleting the exe part file properties but this didnt seem to work. But anyways thanks for the help!

If the file is not an .iso, you cannot just change it to .iso and expect it to be an image of a game, app, etc. Sometimes files have to be changed from .exe to .zip, .ace, .rar in order to unzip the compress files. The .exe is added to gain the visibility of the file as mentioned in the previous post. Kazaalite does not pick up certain extensions very well or at all.

And how do you change the files? Is there some kind of file converter program out there?

You just have to right click your ISO/EXE file and select 'rename' and then remove the EXE part.....you should now be able to burn the iso to CD.
