UPDATE:
Ok fixed the pictures and changed any mention of quakenet to p2pchat. Also quoted Razz's post at the end so that people will see it.
----------------------------------------------------
This is for the mIRC program only, someone asked me about trillian and since I don't use it anymore I'm not exactly sure how to. I suggest using mIRC anyways as it's much more functional. If you don't wanna use mIRC or just can't seem to grasp it you can go to this link http://www.p2pchat.net/chat/klchat.php wich uses a java client to connect.
Step 1) Vist http://ww.mirc.com (http://www.mirc.com) and download mirc6.0 and install
Step 2) Open the program, when it opens the options screen should pop up
It looks like this:
http://galleries.vinyamar.com/ps/show.php?id=LGy0LVwbPKwkd9T5uxAjrYqxf&ext=.jpg
Step 3) Where it says 'FULL NAME' insert any name you want, this WILL NOT be the name you use in the chat room
Step 4) Where it says 'E-MAIL ADDRESS' insert any random address, this DOES NOT need to be real, I use 0@0.com for instance
Step 5) Where it says 'NICK NAME' insert the name you want to USE IN THE CHAT ROOM, nick names CAN NOT contain spaces, you must use one of thsese _ ` | for spaces
Step 6) Where it says 'ALTERNATIVE' put a nick name you would like to use incase your first one is taken. For example, my nickname is XeroXed, and my alternative is XeroXed`43.
Step 7) Click on the 'ADD' button to the top right of the options screen.
This:
http://galleries.vinyamar.com/ps/show.php?id=e41fzYdTvR91KgtBnRyaVSCzi&ext=.jpg
Step 8) In 'description' put p2pchat server, or KLchat, whatever, this will be so you can recognize it in the server drop down box.
Step 9) In 'IRC SERVER' put irc.p2pchat.net
Step 10) Hit Add
Your options window should look something like this now:
http://galleries.vinyamar.com/ps/show.php?id=xAZGfNdl14mwVmRtcIjrbIKcz&ext=.jpg
Ok this is for those that would like to be able to Send and recieve files, if your not intersted in sending and reciving files skip to the next part:
Step 1) In the options window on the folder tree area scroll down to 'DCC' Open this tree and select 'FOLDERS'
Looks like this:
http://galleries.vinyamar.com/ps/show.php?id=NWyZ5yafbtTJKIEolLxONrNG&ext=.jpg
Step 2) In the drop down box where it says 'IGNORE ALL EXCEPT' you want to change this to 'DISABLED'
Step 3) If the 'TURN BACK ON IN' is ticked, UNTICK it.
It should now look like this:
http://galleries.vinyamar.com/ps/show.php?id=I7iePWxabK1R8hWgIPx0NG0j&ext=.jpg
Ok, the end:
Step 1) Click 'OK' in the options menue:
Step 2) to connect click the lightning bolt icon
looks like this:
http://galleries.vinyamar.com/ps/show.php?id=5g1LTP3ZUU31eDElRm8ezz4w&ext=.jpg
Step 3) Now in your 'status window' (that's the window in the middle of the prog) type /join #klchat
And you should now be in the chat room....enjoy, if you have further questions please either talk to me in the chat or any other op (those are the people with the @ symbols next to there name) or just send me an instant msg through AIM/AOL at xeroxedxx43.
I hope to see you there.

Because of the upcoming success of the chatroom, I think it is needed to mention a few rules:
1. It is okay to say words as f*ck or sh*t, but actual fighting will be punished as followed:
1. Warning
2. Kick
3. Kick + 30min ban
4. Kick + 1day ban
2. Personal matters between forum members are not discussed in the public chatroom, they can be discussed via PM
3. Do not abuse the textscript-tricks. It will be dealt with the same way as fighting.
4. Do not spam and do not flood. It will be dealt with the same way as fighting.
5. After many requests by certain users, we will no longer be accepting requests to be "opped" and it will become an offence. When requesting you will be kicked immediately.
6.Echoes or mp3-scripts are not allowed
7. Have fun!!
PS: we reserve the right to kick/ban for whatever reason we deem
greetz, the unofficial k-lite-chatroom-team
K guys alot of u are using the chat room to set up FTP's but alot dont know how to set them up so here i go lol
First u gotta get Bullet FTP Server, most of us have this on our FTP's just pop in to the chat room for the ip's to them.
Once you have extracted it and run the installer, you will be faced with a screen looking a bit like this
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/joan.kristensen/Images/ftp1.JPG
Go to setup and click on user accounts, a message should pop up saying first time ... click ok on it
Now go to the far right pane and right click and select add user account
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/joan.kristensen/Images/ftp2.JPG
name it anything you want
now right click on the middle pane and select add then select the directory you wish to share.
Remember to allow users to see sub-dirs by ticking that box and if you want ppl to be able to upload to you then give ppl write access
Now deselect the login and password boxes for now, this is just if you dont want username and password so we can all take a peek lol
click ok and now click on the lightning symbol in far right of screen and et voila! ur up and runnig
Next step is to pop into the chat room and give us the ip any questions come in and ask
I am still new to this so if u find any flaws in my post plz tell me
Peace
Razz
Setting up users with different access levels
Right now what i did next was set up different user accounts with different access rights for example the default login to my ftp is K-lite and password Kazaa but these users are limited to only 5 connected at a time and cannot upload, i then created seperate accounts for what i call loyal members lol
These accounts can exceed the max user limits and max connections limit and some of them who have their own folders on my ftp actually have full access to that folder, with ability to delete files heres how i did it:
First i went back intp the user accounts screen from here i added the users and re-added the dir which they could access and gave them write access
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/joan.kristensen/Images/ftp3.JPG
if u look at the screenshot you will see that Killa has two folders allocated to him this is because i have given him full delete access on his folder
Now to allow them to get in even though the limit for the ftp has been reached
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/joan.kristensen/Images/ftp4.JPG
this means that killa can get access to the FTP when there is a lot of users connected
Peace
Razz
next i will be giving loyal users unimited bandwidth - when in irc just pm me and i will try and set up an account for u my ftp still needs building up but i got 40gig free and a lot of time on my hands lol
If it is ur router blocking the ftp then u need to open up port 21, or change the port FTP uses
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/joan.kristensen/Images/ftp5.JPG
Above you can see a screenshot of where u do it just go to setup and then main then accross to general and then change the port FTP listens to just make sure u tell ppl when they are trying to get access to it
Razz
Limiting the bandwidth guest users can use
Right the next thing i did was i limited the bandwidth which guest users could use as this left more bandwidth available to users with dedicated accounts, this is pretty simple to do really.
Go to setup... then user accounts and then highlight the guest account
then click on ratio, qoutas bps tab.
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/joan.kristensen/Images/ftp6.JPG
now type in the limit u want it to be bear in mind it is in bytes per second eg
if i wanted to give guest users 50KBit of my 256 upload then i would:
50Kbit X 1028 = 51400bit then
51400 / 8 = 6425 bytes
i basically did this so that guest users would not be hogging my bandwidth
Peace

@Razz
I must congratulate you for a very fine explanation of how to set up BulletProof ;)
Remember also that if you are going to have a lot of users with the same access rights, you can also use the "Group Accounts":
http://w1.542.telia.com/~u54205619/groups.jpg
This way, all you have to do is set up your users as explained above, then just make them a member of the group. This saves a lot of time setting up individull users. All members of the above group "Klite" will have "read and list" access to the download folder.
Well done Razz !!
Peace

On every DCC bot or FTP bot there is a possibility to write:
/msg *botnick* xdcc help
Now you shall get a small help text that would help you futher on your quest to illegal movies =).

Bullet allows you to set up accounts with passwords.
This means un-desirables or anonymous users cant get in....however, you dont have to set passwords if you dont want to.

For Information.
There are now 3 k-lite channels on the p2pchat server.. (www.p2pchat.net)
1/ The K++ program link takes you to #kchat, a joint k-lite/diet k chat channel for people using the K++ or Diet K programs to chat with each other and IRC client regulars.
2/ The boards IRC link takes you to #klitechat, a smaller room created for members of the board and their guests, without the chaos of hundreds of users.
3/ There is also a #khelp channel supported by both sister channels. In here you can find advice and tips on using k-lite and diet k plus useful links.
As said, all 3 rooms are on the p2pchat server, as is #fasttracker, the chat channel used by our private BT tracker/forum members. This means that you can be in all 3 k-lite rooms and the fasttracker room, with only one IRC client program running, if you so wished.
The p2pchat server also caters for a number of other p2p programs which have their own dedicated rooms, fserver rooms and general p2p chatrooms...and caters for the creation of private rooms by registered users.
For those that still dont have IRC, and dont know how to set it up... goto www.p2pchat.net, and download p2pchat.irc.
Once installed and ran, this client will take you onto the p2pchat server and into #p2pchat automatically.
If you then type "/join #klitechat", "/join #kchat" or "/join #khelp" ......there will be people there that can talk you through configuring the client to always take you to those channels automatically.
