Cd Writer Probs

I have just reinstalled my cd writer after my old one broke, its the same model but higher speed, now windows asks me for drivers everytime I boot up my machine, but it has no drivers. Anyone have any ideas???

Surely if its a new one then you would of had a start up disc with it?

Is it definately compatible with XP.

Find the website on Google and see if there is an update or any known issues.

Sometimes you have to download the drivers for XP on many new installations.

Try running windows update as well it might recognise it and install the driver for you

Just adding my 2 cents:
You could also insert the XP installation CD and direct it to the drivers folder. Sometimes works for me.
