Supreme Being 1000. Good Or Bad?

Hi all,
Read somewhere (in one of the forums) that more and more people are cutting users with a 1000 rating
for one lame reason or another (being cheaters - got the rating artificialy etc etc .) and i must admit, i have found this to be close to the mark.on the older Kazaa where my rating was high or Deity etc i could connect and download ,on the whole, without much interuption.Now ,with the latest version of kazaa, my rating was 1000. problem is, more and more people are cutting my downloads because of the rating (so i log on as alternative ,low rating user and no problems)I can sit and watch people uploading from me (max 20 ) and am amused at seeing lower rated users start uploading/downloading only to be cut off by a higher rated user (a reverse of problems!) (you still following this?)
point in hand i share a lot of files and allow a reasonable number of uplaods connected 24/7 so my rating
soon goes back up to 1000 (couple of days max.)
i suppose the whole point of this gibberish is to ask if the rating system is actually working ,is it fair to people who dont have cable or similar connections that i am lucky enough to enjoy, the same people who take a lot longer to reach a decent rating and are unceramoniously cut off after a couple of seconds by a fixed 666 or 1000 user?

if you use lastest verion of kl(k++) than you will allways have 1000/666 pl. so don't worry about it.

BTW it's good to have higher pl.

I haven't noticed people cutting me off with y downloads. How dare they do that to you. They're obviously jealous of your pl and your enlightened involvement with k-lite and it's forum. F#ck em!

Hi KCC, actually I share some of your reservations concerning the Supreme Being Thing, although it might be paranoia as well. Up to now, I haven't experienced similar problems.

On the other hand, I just think Random Nut has done an extraordinary nice job with K++, it is simply the best Kazaa there ever was- but it would be still great even without the participation level cheat and the striking presence it gives to you in the community.

How exactly did you restore your PL to a lower level? I read somewhere that you could modify it, and I think having total control over your PL would be even cooler than a fixed 1000...

What possible difference could it make to have a rating of 1000 (Supreme Being), which I have, to 666 (Deity) or something lesser? Who cares, unless you're getting obscene bandwith charges?

There are a couple of registry fixes around but ,for me ,the easiest way is to uninstall and re install Kazaa without the cheat enabled.

What i did is delete the 'lastsearchhash' key...this resets PL to 100 & i just use the kazaa hack 2.0.2 to skyrocket it upto whateva i want....if it goes to 1000 i just use the 'return to normal' key and so on and so on....can freeze the PL at whateva you want....


As for most 1000PL'ers not sharing i dont find that to b the case...i have just got 8mile&sharing that,i'd say out of 10 supreme beings that upload it from me,maybe 2 are leeching.....

It dont bother me really as we have all prob leeched at sometime or another....i did wen first got my comp as didnt have shit to share!!!!

SO DONT WORRY ABOUT OTHERS SHARING!!!

I have the new verison of Kazaa with the pegged 1000 rating. I download much faster now. I like being at 1000 all the time because the other system was too volatile. One or two songs and it was down from 1000 to 100 in no time it seemed like.

My Take on it?

Although I don't monitor my Kazzaa all the time (couple hours in the evening - it runs 24/7), when I am, I check out everyone with 1000 PL and 1 PL.. I find that 50% or better of the 100PL people aren't sharing...(they get the boot)

The Participation level is there for a reason (as I see it).. and people that try to cheat the system... are cheating the system.. It's about sharing.. NOT getting ALL I CAN and screw everyone else.. which is the way 50%+ users seem to me.
Right now my PL is 724 (been at 1000 quite a few times). Im currently uploading 45+k ps and downloading from 7 souces for a whopping total of 3.85k ps..
I know that I'm not maxing my connection because I have ULed at 100K+ - and get an FTP occasional to hit 3mbit down.


Most of the time when I get a good connect, I either a.) Get put on hold (more than likely from some cheating bastard) - b.)the user plain cuts me off and stops sharing that file c.) some seem to drop their upload to like .05k (get 10-15 k for 30 seconds or so then plummet)

Just a short time ago I was doing searches/more resources trying to get a good speed on Minority Report.... Kept seeing a default user, stop start stop start etc... Just so Happened I had a default user /w 1000pl DLing a good 10 k from me... decided to search him.. there's the file, same size, same name.. So I click it in his search results and it starts another copy of that file. What happens? Stop start Stop Start... More Sources needed.... Searched on him again and he had renamed the file.


Many of the 1000PLers are sharing... 2 mp3s and a couple images. They get to 1000 that way?
That isn't playing within the rules.. If my slots aren't full I'll let it go, but if they are cutting off other people trying to DL I boot em and stop sharing the file.

If your PL doesn't stay up on it's own, You aren't sharing the files that people want.... You taking and not giving isn't File sharing... it's you taking.

I admint that I sometimes get overly fixated on Leachers and 1000PLers, But *I* work within the system - always doling out 10+k DLs for others Very seldom have less than 7 uploads going - while it takes me weeks (days at minumum) to get a full movie at .05 - 3.5k.


One time (1) have I gotten better than 100K DL (on one file) - 6 sources and 92-98 K came from a single source.
It lasted about an hour and 40 minutes. Pure heaven - and my PL was only around 150 when I started.
Most times if I get 10-15 k Im overjoyed.

Yea, i agree... one aspect i like of it is that if i use the cheat, which i do, that means all users downloading from me get an egual chance of downloading as they wont be bumped by a higher user, JMO, and they also seem to get more of the file completed too...

I never have noticed a problem. I've had the SB 1000 rating before the cheat was created. I normally share more than I download anyway. But this D666 thing is getting on my nerves. It's all I see on my upload so now I really can't tell the freeloaders from the cool users anymore.

It doesn't matter about cool and freeloaders anymore for me, i never really cared actually, i dont have time to moniter my files that i upload to other people.... I dont want to waste my time at my computer and cancel half the people uploading from me because i couldnt get their shared list... I could use that time to exercise from sitting on my ass for a couple hours reading through this forum :D :lol: :P
