The Road to Perdition and The Others are 2 files I downloaded from Kazaa and they are both DVD rips. The clarity of the audio and video is great but the video is gerky. Not much trouble with audio sync.

Can someone tell me what they did to correct this.

What player are you using? Do the stats show any frames being skipped? Are you running anything else CPU/HD access intensive while viewing a film? When was the last time you defragged your HD?

You know I am using the windows media default player in 98 second edition. I defrag on a regular basis.

I may have something running in back.

It seemds to effect DVD rips mostly.

Can this have anything to do with codecs?

Thanks

Billy

I don't think it's a problem with the codecs. You should try a different player.
Zoom Player (http://www.inmatrix.com/files/zoomplayer_download.shtml)

If you have divx 5 installed, you should go to the codec's properties (usually found in start-menu) and set the quality to the lowest.

Restart your machine right before watching a rip, it corrected my issues with the jerk's on my old 98 system.
