hey guys, me and a few others with my cable have recently had major speed drops in kazaa.. we think its because of our isp restricting the port that kazaa goes through
is there any way we can change the port we download through, or do something to get it back to normal speed?
thanks

in your kazaa options you will (should) be able to change the default port setting to 80
at least thats what the option seems to imply
i really dont think your cable isp will restrict ports on your pc
i dont even think thats legal
yet
ive had soo many different probs messing with internet settings it goes way beyond ludicrous.
im on cable, and i have no probs,
do you run a firewall? and if so, which one?
the problem might be related to your registry settings,, like mtu and all that
when dealing with cable connects, internet tweaks dont work near as well as theyr supposed to
ive found that default settings seem to be the best.
if youve made changes to these in the past, this could be where your problem lies.
are you sure your not uploading outside of kazaa? ive found that some users using certain software can connect to your machine and download off of you whether your running your p2p software or not
i shit you not
monitoring you connections is a definate must
http://www.pcpitstop.com has some internet registry options
including returning them to thier original config
sorry i couldnt be of more help, and good luck

Some internet providers are in fact blocking Kazaa.
Try changing the default port from 1214 to say 6000, or anything above 5000.

good advice m8, i cant really come to terms with an isp blocking kazaa ports, or any others for that matter
why not trojan ports, u know?
not saying its proper, but you see where their concerns lie.

Why would they do that unless they are connected (shareholding, Part of a group)
with one or more interested parties (record companies Etc)
Fileshare has to be a major contributary factor in internet signup
