I have a dialup connection, but its a bit different to the standard 56kb modem connection.. in its own computer (old computer that i use as a net server) i have a 128kb dialup modem, hey it only cost me 30 bux i got it off this old guy who didnt know what he was talking about.. and i get around 8-10kB / sec downloads, which is ok for dialup

Im thinking all those people who say that they download at 1mbps are clearly confused and are thinking that its a 1meg connection and not the top download speed.

To download at 1meg/sec is tp have a 16meg connection, highly unlikely.
also a T-1 or a t-3 are f***ing expensive to have , and here u can get faster adsl than a t1 which is also much cheaper than the t1.

and people are still quoting speeds which are impossible on the connection they have eg 200kbps on a 56k modem :D :angry: :blink: :blink: :blink:

But seriously, i live in South Africa (thats right, we have computers and electricity, you'd be surprised how many ignorant people out there would raise their eyebrows at that little revelation!) and when i tell friends i have isdn they get jealous. we are slowly starting to get DSL infrastructure but when the government controls the only telecoms provider in the country then shit takes a LOOOOOONG time to happen. My 1.5Mbit downstream DSL can pull files from high speed HTTP/FTP servers at around 200KB/sec (I voted 250...closer to truth than 100) but very rarely even when people are sharing, does Kazaa Lite ever use all my bandwidth. What I need to do, is figure out how to get my Laptop online with the Desktop (I suck at networking), so I can run eMule on one and Kazaa Lite on the other and save resources...neither of them would ever use HALF my downstream limit!

3mbit or faster... or maybe what is your connection, how fast... it hard to make a poll that fit everyone perfectly, speed varies greatly from person to person due to distance and weird cap.

I download all files from microsoft in less than a second so i dunno. Fastest ever was 200MB/s for 2 seconds downloading america's army installer from the army's website.
But i dont share on kazaa cus it would make my connection very slow. I have a larger conenction than everyone else.. and its free oo
