View Full Version : Problem With Audio & Video Slowing Down

On most of the movies I have downloaded that are extremely large "around the 700 MB range" the audio and video are not n'sync with each other, but on some other movies that I saw that are around the 700 MB range I don't have that problem! The video could be playing and the audio is ahead of the video by like 10 seconds or vice versa. It fucking sucks because I wanna see Goodfellas and some other ones, but its like that which defeats the purpose of watching the movie. Anything I can download to correct this problem?

Really when I have seen those problems it has to do with the file itself, though in this case it could be the codec you are using?
Not sure, I haven't seen any posts about this before, but just for shits& giggles (or till somebody more knowledgable than I shows up) what codec are you using and where do you get your verifieds from?

In your situation I would do this;
Uninstall all codecs and find them 1 by 1 with www.google.com / is it more cleaner that way.
Use this (http://www.divx-digest.com/software/avicodec.html) program to detect what codecs an avi needs.
Use this (http://download.com.com/3000-2194-10134051.html) little player to play the movie.
Problems with finding single codecs, post the codecs you need at this topic and we will search links 4 you.

What kind of computer do you use? what's your configuration (CPU, RAM, ...)?
I myself don't have very up-to-date PC and I have to shut down most of the programs before I can watch a movie without sound being ahead of the picture. Especially movies with all the new codecs, which seem to use quite a lot of resources.
Try closing down everything you can and see if it helps.

Restarting your PC before you watch and making usre any of your pier to pier clients are not running will usually take care of the problem. I have an up-to-date PC and never have any issues watching any movie as long as I insure there is no other system resource robbing program running. I second Tilen76's question as to what system you are running, hom much ram, etc. Resources play a much larger part in video playback than most people think.

ok I will at least try that, but I'm pretty sure thats not the problem or could it be the frame rate or something? I'm not all to familiar with audio and video and codec stuff, all I do is play the video! either with DIVX, wm player etc. my specification are 433 MGZ processor 120 MB RAM.

A faster computer would help, but yeah that sucks... I have that same problem on a PC three times more powerful but I usually avoid it by starting a movie from the beggnning and not skipping around. It loses sync when you skip around.
