What is a Supernode?
Any computer using Kazaa Media Desktop can become a Supernode if they have a modern computer and are accessing the Internet with a broadband connection. Being a Supernode does not affect your performance noticeably.

If your computer is functioning as a Supernode other Kazaa Media Desktop users in your neighborhood will automatically upload to your machine a small list of files they are sharing, whenever possible using the same Internet Service provider. When they search, they send the search request to you as a Supernode. The actual download will be directly from the computer who is sharing the file, not from you. The download goes from them to the person who wants it. See peer-to-peer.

Is it harmful for my computer to be a Supernode?
No. Being a Supernode helps other users. Other computers connect to you, and your computer does the searching for them. Your Supernode communicates with other Supernodes worldwide to help other members search. The amount of CPU resources that can be used by a Supernode is limited to 10% of the total CPU power available - you will in general not even notice if your computer is functioning as a Supernode!

What if I don't want my computer to be a Supernode?
Go to Options, choose the Advanced tab and check the 'Do not function as a Supernode' box.

:D God I love copy and paste.

You should give READING a go, then you'd see that the guy is on a 56k dialup connection, so all the above is irrelevent to him.

You cannot be a supernode if you're on dialup. Even if you check the box, Kazaa knows better and won't function as a supernode if you don't have enough bandwidth.

Yes. And lots of non-supernode users will be connecting to you.

so, if i am a supernode, does this mean there is a file on my computer somewhere that lists other users identities (IP addresses?) and what files they have?

Can you crack into and read that file?

nipsey- yes.

go into c:windows.

hit a file, then hit ctrl a

then press DELETE.
then empty recycle bin

Then restart computer

then go back into c
select all files, and delete those.

then when u reboot the final time, you will have a list of the IP address's of all the users on kazaa and their firewalls will be shut down.

enjoy
