having just sorted the prob with the new codec pack and preview, it is now only playing 7 mins of a film despite 45mb having dled.
why?

Install VideoLan or BsPlayer.

i have already and that stops at 7 mins too. I meant 450mb not 45!

Probably that 450 mb you d/loaded is corrupt.

Unfortunately Camille may be right, should definitely be able to play almost the full 450 Mb, but guess you will find out if it's corrupt when download is finished.

sometimes avi preview does that it doesnt really matter remember the PREVIEW part of the phrase

It will only let you preview the good downloaded part of the movie, if it has not yet downloaded the part after the 7 min then you just have to wait. Or the file is bad. Just wait and see after the download is complete.

Keep Downloading your MOVIE!!
It will be Sweet as, apart from having a error in it. But will still play.

If you want download DivFix. Search for it in Google. wait till your movie has downloaded & repair it.

Or if you want to watch more than 7min of your movie, use DivFix NOW. Strip & Rebuild the index of your movie- .dat file.

Now use AVI Preview again to play.

Note!
It's common for downloads like your movie to download in Scattered parts, with bits of video or sound missing. Which is all pieced together closer to completion.

So Don't Delete it. That would be stupid.

Tip: If you look in K-Dat, it will give you a bar showing how much of the movie has downloaded, and you will be able to see if it's being downloaded in scattered parts, if there are breaks in the bar.

Thanks E, Your a god mate. Did as u said and it works a treat. Never knew about that. Guess u learn something every day huh!

Note to others. Use this divfix before deleting corrupt files. If avi plays a few seconds then cuts to end, search another thread by me on this forum for fix (by gatherer). If it doesnt play at all, check codecs and/or use videolan.
