A Few Config Changes

We will change a few config settings and make filesharingtalk.com the root domain for this board because our ath.cx domain causes a few troubles if it comes to notification mails.

If you run into any troubles delete your cookies and login again.

Main Domain
http://www.filesharingtalk.com

Additional Domain

http://klboard.ath.cx

It should not. Try to refresh with CTRL + F5 together.

Sounds like a cache problem (temp internet files)

I see that this change also reflects the changing purpose of this board (http://filesharingtalk.com/index.php). However, I think that if we change the root domain then we should change the board name as well to relect upon this(we should probably keep the logo though).

I have to revoke my previous post, the link redirects to filesharingtalk.com when using the default skin, but when using the invision standard skin it still links to klboard.ath.cx

Hello!

It seems to be a problem with the log in function since the update!

Everytime I leave this board and comes back I am forced to Log In again and yeat I have choosen to be permanently logged in!.

What could be the problem?

The problem could be that you go to the old main URL (klboard.ath.cx) instead of the new main URL (filesharingtalk.com). Your bookmarks should be updated in order to fix the problem.

Yup I got it as well and then updated my bookmarks after trying everthing in a mass panic and confusion and then all was fine...

The previous address still works and so do all links. As soon as people click register or login they are fine.

Let's compare good and bad:

Good
- Subscriptions finally work as they should
- Same goes for PM notifications (work as they should)
- The board loads faster because there is no 3rd party DNS (ath.cx)
- New users always receive their welcome mail
(a lot of ISP's block services like ath.cx because many users spam with subdomains)


Bad
- Members need to bookmark the new address
(if they don't they simply have to login once if they type klboard.ath.cx)
- If you click an old link inside a topic it will ask you to login

It's only a config change and not the end of the world. I'm not a big fan of changes but as administrator I want to make sure that the board works as it should.

There will be no name change (as this is the KL Board and always will), no new banners, no popup windows, no spyware, no adware.

Same here MagicNakor, but then I deleted the cookies and the old bookmark and then bookmarked the site again, now all is well.... that might help MN.

i think its becuz of old Address in start page, isnt? so Dev's should update the links.

In the past weekor so, I've noticed that I now need to configure Zone Alarm to be wide open in order to navigate around the board. It seems that when I change locations in the board, I need to re log-in again unless I enable cookies, scripts, headers. Has there been a change in the board such that this is necessary or is this a quirk on my system?
