Vcd To Avi/divx Converting

I have Harry Potter Chamber of Secrets on 2 discs in VCD format.

It is a screener but excellent sound and quality.

How do I convert this to AVI or DIVX so I can post it to forum

Why not just post that VCD format. That way there is no quality loss and we can also watch it on our DVD players :)

Just post the mpeg files or make cd-images (.bin) of those two discs.

I using Nero now to copy disc and it is simulating it as it was copywritten is that normal?

In explorer, right click on the drive containg the video cd, and select explore. You will now see the vcd format. Find the file called XXXXXXX.mpg and copy it to your shared folder. And that's it.

The disc contains these folders CDI, EXT, MPEGAV, VCD SEGMENT and VCD_PLAY.

The MPEGAV folder is 780MB the properties say the file is AVSEQ01.DAT and it is read only ticked.

sig2dat does not recognise the file and I tried changing the extension of file to .mpeg but still not doing it.anyway it is in my shared folder so try searching for HARRY POTTER CHAMBER OF SECRETS 1 OF 2 MPEG

Sorry, I was looking at a SVCD, that has a file called AVSEQ01.mpg

It is probably the same thing though.

Yeah I have encoded the first disk and posted it to verified movies just having problem with disk 2 as TMPGEn software dont like it for some reason.

If you drag the AVSEQ01.DAT file to TMPGEn it will convert it to MPEG and improves the quality just it is a lot bigger file.

Just take the .dat file and rename it to title of movie and share only that file. Just as a test you can try playing it by right click, open with - windows media player. you will see that it plays just like an mpeg.

with the program WinAvi video decoder jou can convert the 2avi disc to 2
dvd disc or one, jou can download the program for one month,afther jou must pay.
