Install Firefox On Mandrake 9.2

Im new to linux and i was wondering how i install firefox to mandrake 9.2

you dont need to install it. just download the tar, extract it and run the firefox file inside.

i download the file which is ,gz extention then i open it and everything i click on either goes to an open with or to a text file.

open up a teminal or command line.
cd into the extracted firefox directory
and run the executable:
./firefox
