How are your other rails holding up Al?
Typically, I believe that it's the 5v rail that really starts to go wonky when the PSU is about to bork out.
If your 5v and 12v rails are stable and within a reasonable range, then maybe something else is going on.
Life at the edge of the envelope, where you seem to live, can be dodgy can't it?
