Somebody please help me out here because I really don't get it. I expect this isn't the first or the last time this topic as reared its ugly head but here goes anyway. I really can't understand why somebody would go to the trouble of renaming a file to deceive others into thinking it is something that it is not. That person then let's you waste's his/her bandwith uploading the file from them. I tried to download FIFA 2003 the other day only to find it was something totally different. FIFA 2003 being a fairly new game is probably going to be a fairly popular game to try and download. So the moron that takes some crap "old hat " game renames the file for his/her cheap kicks then gets every Tom, Dick & Harry stealing their bandwith to try and upload the file. What do they gain....F**k All!!! :(

Yep point taken. That's fair enough. But what I still don't understand is, that I am still sucking up the faker's bandwidth in the process. :)

It's just human(sic) nature. There's always someone out there who wants to prove to the rest of the world that they're a bigger a***hole than anyone else. I get fed up with it on a decent connection, so I can only sympathise with those of you on dial up. Maybe as a community we should be able to ostracise offenders, or is this a little right wing?

If you have enough brain power you can figure the fake from the real I like to keep my mind to decide based on these rules:
*Check the review of the game you want, and think about how big the file would be when compressed using Uharc.
*After im done with my search click on filesize to get the highest most biggest file and then download it (they are usually to big to be fake)
*If its 164 MB... Its Black and white.
*Usually the games that arent fake have a long message as a description, along with GTA3 (same thing)
*Always get the one with the most users.
*Remember some games cannot be around 24 kb. Check file size.
People only do this for one reason, they do it to get participation points and to infect your computer.
Some people on DC (Direct connect) where you have to have enough files (a size limit) to download from others
do the same thing, so keep your common sense even in the dark.

Before downloading, always check for verifieds. If it is a fairly new game and there is nothing verified, request it (in the requests section)

ok, i understand that i am trying to get something for free, and u win some and u lose some. what i would really like to know how to do is change the title of the file. and to add to the common since thing, look at the file name too, at the far right, always when it is brand new, and u will save your self a lot of trouble.
please do not come back with go to the properties, yes that will work some of the time, but some files seem to have the advanced summary locked or something. i just get tired of chasing after people that r downloading a good file from me, but they may think it is something else if they did not look at the file name at the far right in the kazaa window. thus the " do u know what u r getting convesion". thanx

Hey people, how`s it going ? Thanks for the info posted in this forum. I`m new to KazaaLite. Downloaded a couple of imposters already. You know if these idiots are going to send out files with the wrong names, it would nice if they would at least work . Have a good one.

He's right, and if that doesn't work, try the verifieds.
But castrating, like Rat Faced said, would work as well!
