How about a rating system for the verifieds?

of course, only good hashes are posted, but it might be nice to now just what quality a verified movie has.
(i'm thinking of movies here)

something like this:

5: superb quality, like a dvd. a real dvd!! (a few gigs in size!) :D
4: excellent quality. like a very good dvd-rip.
3: minor compression effects are present, or the audio is not perfect. or captured from TV or a theatre.
2: obvious compression for picture and/or bad sound.
1: heavily compressed file, or no sound. but still worth a look of course!

what do you think? is this a good idea or not?

I completely agree that when a verified is posted, so should some details on the quality. But introducing another rule to this forum, may be confusing to newbies.

not only that but rating systems are so subjective when done by a lot of people.
Idea is still good though.

Shouldn't there be something in it how easy you can find a file to download it?
There are a lot of hashes out there that are very hard to get.

How would you know how hard it is to download?

Might be easy on some supernodes and downright impossible on others :P

Maybe if you really are the 1st one to upload a file. CD's you just ripped for instance?

Ain't there a way to calculate the number of (same) files, by collecting it from all supernodes?
I really don't know? It's just a shot in the dark, but it doesn't seem impossible to me?
So that's why i thought of it. B)

You could always rate things based on availablity on an individual level. You know, do a manual search and rate based on that. It wouldn't be true for everyone, but I think it would be fairly good as a general indication.

Looking back at the original idea, people who have downloaded the file could possibly post back on the verified's board (assuming that's where it came from) and add their feelings about the rating. Anyone looking at the post can then get a good idea of how good it is.

It is hard to determine what is a top download unless you got a decent RAM and Processor etc cos joe bloggs who has minimum requirements will get a worse image than someone with top specs.

It also seems to me that the earlier you get the latest movies downloaded the worse the quality.

We just maybe have to wait for the software that will automatically convert all movies to the perfect SVCD.

It wont be long before that is on our desktops thats for sure!!!!
