Hey, I got a lot of movies I'd love to rip and share in sig2dat, but I have not been able to find a ripper that gets the job done for me. I am a novice at ripping, and need suggestions for a user friendly DVD ripper. Anyone got any?

To be completely honest. for using the most basic software. GO onto kazaa and download DVD copy plus made by 321 studios. It should be able to rip an mpeg of the dvd release (mpeg 4 i think) and you should be able to use that to view different movies.

Yes, this picture really is outstanding. I am an amature photographer myself, and admire real life snapshots. She does not seemed puzzled, but deep in thought. The wind is the only thing cooling down her brain.
I briefly checked out devintart.com, but since I am ripping a DVD, surfing is slow so I'll have to go back to the site later. It looks like a great one though. Talk to you later. mobboss01

Have you tried SmartRipper? That's my favorite.

i posted a guide with the programs in it the other day
really helpful for me
Be careful using dvd rippers which work directly from the dvd. Because the process takes so long, you can damage your hardware and the dvd.
A better solution is to use a prog like SmartRipper (as suggested by Darth Sushi) to extract the VOB files to your hard drive (only takes a few minutes) and proceed from there.

I am using smart ripper like hell and you all suggested. it came bundled with DVD copier plus, but DVD copier plus has DVDx and all works fine except when I go to view my new mpg, the sound is choppy and it mutes for a second, then sounds fine, then mutes again. really frustrating. I then got the new version of DVDx and i get the same problem. help please.

Have you been to www.vcdhelp.com (http://www.vcdhelp.com)? It's a good site for questions about mpg, VCDs, ripping, editing, etc.
