How Do You Get Rid Of

I'm sick and tired of every advertiser having a security warning in internet explorer pop up to download their spamware. is there anyway to stop this from popping up? switching browsers isn't an option as i actually like internet explorer. i'm running xp. any ideas?

U need somekind of ad block and pop-up blocker
tweak xp pro has both an ad & pop-up blocker or naviscope i used to find a good prog. :)
