how do i back up

winodws xp?i want to update to service pack 2 and i should backup before updating so how do i succesfully back up the necassary files

You can use Norton Ghost to make a backup of your files.

what you also can do it burning stuff on cd-r's or DVD's

just update to SP2, there isnt anything to really back-up. windows takes care of what it needs to update.
