Wrong.

The FCC never banned it. Some of the ABC affiliates thought that it was too violent but the majority of the stations show the movie in its entirety. The stations that thought that it was to violent wanted to air edited versions for TV but Steven Spielberg specifically said that the only way that the movie can be shown is in its entirety and unedited. He felt that showing edited versions of the movie took away some of the movies integrity.

Saving Private Ryan hands down, i have both the movies on dvd but if I had to give one up it'd be oceans eleven, SPR is a masterpiece not to be reckoned with

TheDave

theres quite a few old movies that stand up to it i reckon

anyway, i'm hoping oceans 11 gets rereleased with the popularity of oceans 12

Oceans Eleven.
it made the bad guys into good guys, and they were class.

people get shot and stuff in war all the time.
big fucking deal..that's what they get sent there to do.

(plus I've never seen Saving private ryan) :P

I liked saving Private Ryan.

Ocean's eleven is a good movie too, but it just isn't treating the same kind of scale of events.

Both movies are pretty awful. I watched that 100 Greatest Tearjerkers which was also terrible...I mean ET was Number 1 ffs. :glare:

Just saw SPR today, and i gotta say, this is one of them most dramatic and heart raunching film i have ever seen. The end of SPR was fucking dissapointing though, but damn, the movie was bloddy as hell. Most violent/gore/realistic film i have ever seen.

For the 6 ppl that voted Oceans Eleven, die, die and burn in purgatory hell :)

SPR all the way, watched it today and i'm still amazed at the level of acting/directing.
