ok i am using windows xp and need to know what software to use for a
NEC CD_RW model NR-7800A

You mean burning software? Nero, Easy Cd creator, Alcohol 120%.

yes i know nero doesnt work with all burners

Should work w/ that, have a friend who also has a NEC cd-rw, and I seen him use nero. Forgot model # though but eh..
