nice list.

there is also shadows experimental bittorent clinet.

the standard BT client also comes as source so any linux distro can use it as long as you have the python interpreter installed.

must try that mldonkey that look like a good one.

You forgot azureus, the best bittorent client for linux and you dont need to install the original bittorent to run the azureus client.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/azureus/

GiFT is no longer able to connect to fast track networks, so its pretty much of no use.

GTk-Gnutella--
works fine but it can not run as root which is a security risk anyway. Although people still seem to complain about not being able to run it as root. I dont see a problem with it, but to tell someone what they can and can not do on their own box is rediculous. If idiots want to run it as root they still should be able to, but gtk-gnutella wont let you. I kinda think that sucks.

I found out that the free overnet core http://www.edonkey2000.com/downloads.php with this gui http://ed2k-gtk-gui.sourceforge.net/index.shtml is the best way to go if you want to be up and sharing files in no time . That along with azureus are the two most easiest filesharing apps to install in linux.

For the ed2k-gtk-gui all you need is gtk which most people have anyway, and for azureus all you need is java.

People have problems installing nicotine because silly dependencies so I think their project has a long way to go in means of development.

Thanks haxor

I have been trying to get nicotine to work for months now...

It wont detect my new pygtk!

Nicotine supports "psyco", an inline optimizer for python
code, you can get it at http://sourceforge.net/projects/psyco/
Can not find required PyGTK. The current search path is
['/usr/local/bin', '/usr/local/lib/python23.zip', '/usr/local/lib/python2.3', '/usr/local/lib/python2.3/plat-linux2', '/usr/local/lib/python2.3/lib-tk', '/usr/local/lib/python2.3/lib-dynload', '/usr/local/lib/python2.3/site-packages']

GTK-Gnutella works well for me though
