Remove Norton *completely* safely
This little program, will dump all traces of your Norton programs They say its only to be used when you can't uninstall it (corrupted install). use it anyways, and get rid of all the extra registry stuff that the regular uninstall doesn't take care of

SYMNRT is the first basic step in removing norton from a corrupt install. They also have an MSI cleanup utility on their website that does some additional work on the registry. The biggest problem is that 2 reboots are required after running SYMNRT to remove everything. If you try to reinstall another NAV product before a second reboot, the installation will fail. There is a complete tutorial available at http://www.schrockinnovations.com/removenav.php that setps you through the process.
