WOW...That sucks.

He is without a doubt, irreplaceable.

Btw, how old is Gene Wilder these days? He's gotta be up there by now. I was thinking maybe he was in poor health as well since I haven't seen him in like ten years. :ermm:

he seems to be doing okay. saw him on tv earlier this year peddling his autobiography. apparently he's ready to do some shit-talkin' now, too. about gilda and about richard pryor. neither could be bothered to respond at the time of publishing, due to one being dead and the other deathly ill. :P

you can prolly find plenty of positive reviews of his book on the net, so here's a negative review: http://www.usatoday.com/life/books/reviews/2005-03-17-diller-wilder_x.htm just 'cause. the dissenting opinion's often the more interesting one.

not that i don't enjoy gene's work. willy wonka, the producers, young frankenstein, etc. gene's great. it's just... man... celebs and their "issues."

RIP

I never really got a lot of his stand up stuff because I couldn't understand his accent but clearly he was a star and a well loved one at that.

What I liked best about him , he was before his time .Starting out as a poor black man ,uneducated in raciest America shoving it to the man . Many came after , Eddie Murphy comes to mind and one of my fav's but not as raw as Pryor was . He'll be missed tho .
