What happend to BTX?

so what happend to the BTX formfactor? it was all big news some time ago, but havent heard anything about it lately....... i know AMD wasnt really intrested since their cpu's didnt get that hot, but is it gone completely, or what?

Ah, you flatter and overestimate me simultaneously.
I was consulted by Intel although my suggestions were rejected out of hand, as was my invoice for materials (duct tape, FomeCore and paper mache are not cheap you know).
On the other hand, AMD was much more receptive and we have progressed to rev. 5.2 (cleverly codenamed "ETX") which features multi-dimensional heat dissipation with teragon-level scaleability.
You heard it here first.

then amd must be going backwards, since the ETX standard is, from what ive read an older standard....... i can start to see why intel didnt want you as an advisor :P

That's not possible.
The E in ETX stands for "Extra Super New and Cool".
