Broncos v. Seattle in the Super Bowl.
Broncos win.
Ya'll send me major amounts of cookies.
I become fat and lazy whilst basking in the glory of my amazing prognostication skills.
Posted by: Busyman
I know the picks are already bold.
Just underline your picks.
Late today folks.
Posted by: maebach
pittsburgh is up by 7 early in the first.
7-0 for steelers. Number 82 (randell el) made the catch. roethlisburger is 75 yds, 3/4, 1 td. number 50 should have gotten a penalty for grabbing betis's mask.

Pitt.
Carolina.
Pitt wins the Bowl.

Broncos and Panthers to get to the final.
Pitt's defense just held in check, for the most part, one of the most dangerous offenses in football today.
Plummer & the Broncs don't have a chance. :P

Broncos and Panthers to get to the final.
That might be my only switch.
The Broncos' win was pretty impressive and Roethlisberger is slightly "injured".

Plummer & the Broncs don't have a chance. :PI don't know about that. I can't watch the games and have to wait for the highlights but from the reviews I just read, Indy didn't even turn up til the final quarter - when they ran riot against a very shaky looking Steelers defence.
By all accounts, the Broncos wanked all over a very experienced Pats side yesterday.
I'm happy with my choice :P

Indy grew a nut sac in the middle of the last quarter.
Not very smart FTW.
Manning waving off the field goal team and going for the 1st down on 4th down end up turning into a TD.
Pitt's Jerome Bettis gets hit at Indy's 1 and fumbles. Pitt's QB saves a TD by making an ankle tackle.
It was close but not really.

Plummer shines.
Just a warmup for the Super Bowl.
Which Denver wins.
My ante is on the table.

Not that I care (or it matters), but Seattle.
We could all save a lot of time and the embarrassing hilarity of trying to make the city of Detroit look habitable by just giving us the Lombardi Trophy now.

Good point!!
However, nothing can make Detroit look habitable.

Special effects made us believe that King Kong fought dinosaurs so Detroit could be made to look like Paradise.
It would be expensive though.
The term "Potemkin village" comes to mind.

I’ve been waiting all season for the Jake Plummer of old to show up and I think that this may be the game. This is going to be a game where he’s either going to win it for Denver or loose it. Mile High is a very tough place to play but I think that the Steelers get it done.

O Rly?Mile high is a tough place to play but think the Pats will win.:naughty:

Maybe I’ll keep saying that until someone goes in there and beats them. They’re yet to loose a game there this season.
The Pats beat themselves in the game Saturday night. You can’t expect to win a game turning the ball over 5 times, not to mention they were the victims of two horrendous calls.

I could say something similar about every one of my picks.
They all should have won.
I'm a victim!!!
I think I've changed my mind.
Seahawks over the Broncos for the Big Money and the Big Ring.
The money spent on Ford Field is a tremendous waste, as is every other dollar spent in the hell-hole we call Detroit.

Can I get in on that action?
Posted by: clocker
which action is that...j2's hernia or the bourbon?
Posted by: manker
Ya know, I was thinking Hank was referring to a different kind of action altogether. What with the personal invite and all.
Maybe JP's sig (http://www.filesharingtalk.com/vb3/member.php?find=lastposter&t=109740) is inflicting subliminal damage to my subconcious.

A recurrence, certainly.
Hank-
Yes, you can.
Posted by: manker
subliminal damage to my subconcious.
Isn't that redundent?Of course not, the adjective subliminal is referring to the damage JP's sig has done.
If I was aware of the damage, I might have said 'tangible damage to my subconcious'. Since I am not aware of it, then the best way to convey that to the reader is by using the word 'subliminal'.
Don't know if your retort would be to enquire just how, precisely, would one be aware that the subconcious mind has been damaged - but my answer would be that if it had, you no longer think that Coca Cola is 'it'.
I still do
Posted by: clocker
Sheesh...not yet 6am and already I have been schooled, "pwned" as you kids say today (I won't say "rodded" as that brings us back to JP's subliminally suggestive sig).
Of course you're invited Hank...in fact, I suggest we ALL take the Monday following Denver's triumph off, get digitally shitfaced and post pish all over the board.
We could use BookWorld as a temporary loo.

im happy only teams I wanted out was denver and new england Denver did there job for me then steelers took care of denver soooo happy i didnt care about NFC liked all the teams there that were there this year
we were all waiting for Jake to fuck up and well... he did at the wrong time the guy can't play from behind hes only good with a lead
as for the super bowl really i dont care so im gonna enjoy it like to see seattle win their first one and would love Bil Cowher to finally win one either way Im happy
Posted by: clocker
Although it's easy to blame Plummer alone for the Bronco's terrible showing yesterday (that's why he makes the Big Bucks), none of the team (including Shanahan) showed up to play.
Horrible, horrible, horrible.
I'd like to see the Seahawks beat Pittsburgh just to put the kibosh on the schmaltzy "The Bus Returns to Detroit" sidestory that is sure to dominate the coverage for the next few weeks.
Meanwhile, I'll be eating crow and sending out cookies so I'll be simultaneously busy and sick for the foreseeable future.
Can hardly wait to see how disappointed I will be at our Olympic showing...

That was I.
But for the first time I found myself rooting for Delhomme last night to throw at least one more Touchdown because I bet the over on the game and it was 43 1/2. With the score 34 – 7 I needed one more score for me to cover and good old Jake came through for me.

I knew that this game’s fate, unlike all the others, would rest on his shoulders. He was going to have to create plays with his scrambling and not turn the ball over for them to have a chance. He didn’t face a defense like this all year, which is why I had a pretty good feeling he was going to turn back into Jake the mistake instead of the snake.

It was close but not really.
Not close at all my friend. Steelers were up by 10 points and polamalu had just picked off payton to seal the game then the refs turned the interception over which the next day the nfl apologized for. So if the refs didnt cheat the steelers would have sealed the game there and made it a 17 point game in the end. Then all of a sudden after the reversal call the colts get a lucky td and then get lucky again when bettis fumbles at the 1 yard line and the colts stil cant win. THE STEELERS ARE BY FAR THE BEST TEAM IN THE NFL AND ARE WINNING IT ALL

Good point about the bullshit reversal.
However, the point is that the Colts played the 4th quarter like they should have played the other three....with urgency.
