Kazaa; Spyware?

I use to have Kazaa ages ago until I found out it use to be spyware itself and download 3rd party software on the the users' computer without their consent.
But since seeing there is a whole forum on Kazaa on this site, I'm guessing Kazaa is not spyware as it used to be..
Can anyone confirm if Kazaa has spyware or a 3rd party downloader? As I'm thinking of going back to it if it isn't.
Zak.

Yep. The original Kazaa is filled to the brim with spyware.
This forum has a section devoted to Kazaa since it was the home of Kazaa Lite K++, an enhanced, spyware-free version of Kazaa. They stopped developing it because Sharman networks threatened to sue them back to the stone age.
There are links to clean versions of Kazaa in the Kazaa Lite section though. I don't know which one to use cause I haven't used it in years. Maybe someone more knowledgeable than me on that subject will know.

the newest kazaa is nice though, its to bad they havent found away to remove the spywhere. I just use peer gaurdian to remove most of the effects. kazaalite is buggy and takes too much clock cycles and memory.

use programs like XoftSpy, Outpost Firewall .. then you can Download from Kazaa without care about Spyware Security.
