Hey all before i get back to work on Skinzaa i just want to know what you's think of this idea i thought of do any of you's have msn plus well i might try and make klh a bit like that and have a my own menu inside kazaa i would make an option so that you didnt have to have it but i think it would be pretty cool.
oh and heres a little program i spent a good 20 minutes not even that to help get rid of that gray space where the ad should be on skins or even on a non skinned kazaa you can replace it with a bitmap of your choice im not going to improve on this little program at the moment as i want to finish skinzaa but do tell me about features i cloud add to this or bugs about it. This will be in klh but i will sort of be binded with kazaa so you dont have to keep starting it just choose your options.

oh and sorry about the time its taking to do skinzaa but good things take time well i hope its like that :D

;) Chatrooms dude,Kazza is the only program with no chatrooms, can ya do that?
Posted by: Jock Whiteside
Dont realy know what i can do yet i havent even started on kazaa yet but im going to rip it apart lim by lim just too busy on skinzaa at the moment but i cloud just make my own chat program that is built in to KLH that binds with kazaa that you use your kazaa login to login into the chat room but that would mean i need to know of someone that own a sever and wants to have my chat room client running 24,7 and that would use a lot of banwidth and im not going to buy a sever anytime soon so you might have to wait a while man.

;) That's cool man,I'll stick toSoulSeek (http://www.slsk.org/)untell KazzaLite gets some chatrooms and add user capabilities,if they had them 2 features it would be the shit.Keep up the good work on KLH though. :D

hmm this soul seek looks ok might download it later and get some ideas from it but can you list things that it has up on kazaa.
Posted by: FuNkY CaPrIcOrN
:D And check out the wishlist feature, that is really nice also Jock. :D
Posted by: Jock Whiteside

Posted by: FuNkY CaPrIcOrN
There should be a button at the top that says Wishlist,a W with a little green behind it.

hmm i cant see it any where could you give me a link

The only reason the chat-room is quite usefull on soulseek, because it's a program which does not work with supernodes and also does not support downloading from multiple sources. If you wanna download from a user in soulseek, you can basically see his shared folders (as they are shared) and not a conglomeration (long disorganised list) of all his files. You can also download by folder in soulseek, meaning that downloader-uploader relationships are long-term.
Soulseek was designed to be personal (hence the name), while kazaa is not! That is an advantage of soulseek, because it is meant to be a pure mp3 p2p, which means that multiple sources are not really needed due to the small file-sizes. By chatting to a soulseek-user, in an IRC-like room, you can ask him to view his files and if you like his taste in music, put him in a favourite-user-list and continue to keep in touch (hence the name again).
This is not possible in kazaa for the following reasons! Supernodes: kazaa is a decentralised network (unlike kazaa) and that means that you will never see all the people on the same network. Usernames: Unlike soulseek (I think), usernames are not original, that is why you would see 100s of kazaaliteuser@kazaa... in a chatroom.
Now if u do want to create a chatroom for kazaa, you would have to drastically change the architecture of the network, to allow the viewing of shared folders (which is the only benefit I would see to a chatroom) or create chatrooms by supernode (also complicated since supernodes are users which restart, log off, etc.). Alternatively you can create a sort-off independant irc-plugin, though what's the point?
Kazaa is designed for speed, not personal contact! That's what this forum is for  Just my 2cents on that idea!

;) I am not saying I have uninstalled Kazza Lite by promoting SoulSeek, but I guess Ardor is right, you can not have chat rooms in Kazza because of the SuperNodes. That is what I like,it feels more like a community, like WinMX use to feel, you can keep in touch with that person and have them on a list, real easy to find. The way Kazza has it with the verifieds is to complicated and hard for people to find, when all they have to do is find that persons chat room and hook up.As far as speed goes,I don't know,I get about the same speeds as on Kazza, the only thing is you can only download 1 file at a time on SoulSeek, not mutiples like Kazza. But the features on SoulSeek are really nice man,its makes it alot easier to find music.I would just like to see more people useing it that is all,the more users on SoulSeek the better, more files, like what Kazza has. :D

thanks for your 2 cents but the chat room i was talking about was going to be a stand alone program that im thinking of im that will connect you to a sever of mine when kazaa logons on im still thinking (well not realy im working on skinzaa but i will think about it)on how i will make it so that you can let the other user see your files but it will still be normal kazaa just with this chat room program that is going to be like find more files from this user i have not thought on how im going to do this so dont blow me up yet i might just be able to pull this off if i try and think real hard about it ok.

Hey FC, by wishlist do you mean that you can enter certain terms into soulseek, which it will search for automatically? If so, isn't that similar to kazaasearch?

;) What is KazzaSearch,is that on version 2?
Posted by: Ardor
No it's a seperate program. Read about it here: kazaasearch (http://www.kazaalite.ath.cx/bb/index.php?act=ST&f=4&t=3392).
Posted by: FuNkY CaPrIcOrN
I have used that before,it is too complicated man,all them buttons and shit,SoulSeek (http://www.slsk.org/)you just put the name of the band and the album in the box and whenever somebody gets onSoulSeek (http://www.slsk.org/) that has that album it comes up.All you do is sit back and chat in the rooms with the other people that love music and drink your beer and then boom it pops up,that easy man.Why should you need a separate program? The only problem of course if it is a rare album, not as many users on SoulSeek (http://www.slsk.org/)as Kazza of course.
Posted by: FuNkY CaPrIcOrN
:D Let me point something else out, about SoulSeek (http://www.slsk.org/),if lets say I put ShareDaddys name in my user list and Paul is downloading from me at the same time as ShareDaddy,Sharedaddy gets to download first because hes my buddy on my user list, another nice feature. :D
Posted by: Ardor
Just to make this clear! I love soulseek, and I think kazaa 2.x is a piece of crap! I agree with you on the complexity of kazaasearch too :D And why does it need to be seperate? Because sharman decides these kind off things, not kazaalite :( Let's just hope that the opensource version by RapidRoad or Random Nut will be better and more flexible
