Got a movie, played it, no sound. Excellent quality, which makes me sad.
Found out the audio codec, installed it (from the K-lite codec pack), rebooted, still no sound.
However, AVIcodec's telling me that the sound's supported.

I don't usually deal with movies, so I figure here's the place to ask. ;)
Is something very strange? Or am I just a dumbass?

Don't answer that last question. :P

Have you tried VideoLAN? http://www.videolan.org

It can play .avi's even without the proper codecs.

maybe ur computer is not good enough just dled the divx codec or something... movies sometimess dont play for me in klite but work in my divx player..

Posted by: amphoteric88

as a rule, i never play any media in k-lite itself
sorry, but no solution to your problem, MagicNakor, have you tried playing it in another player, like RealOne or BSPlayer?
i recommend bsplayer, i find it's good for support

 You think I'd use the Kazaa Player? ;)

No, there's no sound when I use the newest DivX and/or WMP 8. Actually, not true, the sound with the DivX skips and sounds God-awful. Duo's VideoLAN program works, but I'd like to eventually burn it one day. <_<

It's using (albeit poorly) the 0x2000 AC3 DVM codec, if that's any help.

Edit: clarification

i'm assuming that the video was ok, and only the audio gave u trubble. in that case i strongly recommend u use the following:

http://www.glasso.dk/down/DivX-Ac3-Codec.rar

it worked for me and soon after that i was able to watch movies with ac3 audio

hope this helps

Yeah, that's where I nabbed the codec from. Sounds kind of off if I use DivX player, but it works with the BSPlayer. Thanks everyone. :)
