Demonoid ratio/stats problems

Does anyone else have a problem with the stats? My haven't changed for ever, still 1.00 and I have uploaded like 2 gb lately. :unsure:
I'm using utorrent 1.6.

Demonoid is a great site. Few of the things I like is that they have strict rules (no pr0n, no compression, no viri, no spyware, etc). If you need pr0n, there are sites dedicated to that. Demonoid is a "family friendly" site. They also have loads of stuff you can't find anywhere else. But every site does have some shortcomings and Demonoids problem is stats. :wacko:
The problem of the stats lies with the fact they change it once a day only. Which gives headaches if you are d/l and/or u/l several files and your connection get interrupted for some reason. ==> The tracker doesn't register you're no llonger "connected", you can however, in most cases you can correct that yourself by "updating the tracker" manualy within uTorrent. (left click on the torrent, click on "update Tracker") But it doesn't work all the time.:noes:

Yea, and if ur isp gives u dynamic ip's, u need to login to demonoid and browse a lil to bind the tracker to ur new ip every time coz they don't use a live tracker like other sites.

best way to have correct stats is to log into demonoid main page every once in a while so they get your latest IP...

demonoid doesnt update stats with "update tracker" or "scrape" or anything related.
it only updates stats with the "stop" command.
basically, u need to:
1. log into demonoid, so they can link ur i.p to ur account.
2. when the torrents done seeding/leeching, "stop" the torrent in ur client.
3. wait at least a minute, as its sometimes pretty delayed for ur client to send the stop command, or demonoid to receive it.

But can't do that (in my case) as the torrents involved (and the files as well) are no longer on my system. Thus, can't follow your proposed procedure.
I hope it will work for others.

yeah, my demon ratio is a bit fooked too. its at about 0.9 and ive been seeding for ages :-( oh well... i doubt they'll kick me there becoming a more and more open site by the minute.

I've noticed the lack of ratio updates as well; my demonoid ratio was stuck at .93 for several weeks, regardless of what I downloaded. It fixed itself a few days ago though.

I am doing a ton of uploading and it has been a couple days since my demonoid stats have been updated. i am using utorrent (bitcomet messes your demonoid ratio) and have dht disabled (stats do not count for any peers connected by dht). I have a static ip but even tried logging in and out of the site like on the FAQ but to no avail.
well I think I figured out what happened. my roommate just signed up for demonoid too and he just noticed today that his stats reflected about 100GB that he didn't upload. so we checked (whatismyip.com) and the site reported us as having the same ip address.
we are both on a school network and everyone in the building must have the same external ip address. now what to do? I searched and everything about changing ip addresses refers to dynamic ips, can I set up a unique static ip address so trackers and websites won't view us as the same computer?

I do not donate to improve my ratio IF ever I got a bad ratio, and for sure, I'm not going to donate to get my ratio put to 1 when Demonoid screwed up. I don't like the idea of cash for Gigs at all.

Demonoid probably has issues with their stats updating because they take torrents from other trackers as well if im thinking of the correct site.
So any torrents posted there that are linked from other sites torrents wouldnt get their stats updated within the site itself anyways.

Yeah I noticed there are a hell of a lot of outside torrents there.
Stands to reason that those wont count toward your Demonoid stats... so the underhanded could just hit & run on those I spose.

they've always had problems with the ratio tracking working correctly. when the forums were up, there were at least ten threads a day about the ratios not updating correctly. it has more to do with the code and the number of peers that it tracks than anything else (imo).

I tried their site for a while and I couldnt deal with the ratios updating only once a day. I like sites where it updates anytime your client announces or every 15 minutes. Gives you a better idea if your client is reporting correctly to the tracker or not.

Well the thing is it seems easy to upload on Demonoid , I can't on IPT. with out jumping thru hoops . I guess thats the difference with Private trackers ?

its so easy to seed on demonoid as there are so many leechers who dont seed anything back, as they dont get banned for it.
as i said in my previous post, the only way to get stats to update on demonoid is with the "stop" command in ur torrent client. as far as i know its the only torrent site to use this method to keep ratio stats.

Oh ok I think thats why my seem so high then . Ratio: 34.96 But its like anything in life , you get back what you put in . ;)
