Microsoft's upcoming "Patch Tuesday" promises to be a doozy as the company will roll out a flurry of security updates. The updates affect Microsoft's operating, Office application and the .NET framework. Users are highly advised to install the updates because several of the vulnerabilities are rated critical or moderate by Microsoft.
There are eleven updates in total with six for Microsoft Windows, four for Office and the final one for the .NET Framework. Microsoft says the updates will require the user to restart their computers. Microsoft's Baseline Security Analyzer and Enterprise Scan Tool will detect and help companies install the updates.
Microsoft also plans on releasing three other non-security updates on Tuesday October 10th, 2006.

I guess we should worry when they " Don't have security updates " Our Anti -Virus programs do it weekly or in some cases daily and we don't bat an eye .
All in the eye of the beholder I guess ?:dabs:

My money's on an SP3 coming out just before Vista hits the shelves. Surely they wouldn't wait until after that when they're gonna be busy with Vista pneubs and updates for that?

there's an easier way to run microsoft updates, just block outgoing connection to mpa.one.microsoft.com in your firewall and you'll be good to go :)
