Cd Images On The Kazaa Network

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

It's extremely difficult to find CD images (bin, cue and iso files) on Kazaa .. tho these are the file types that I definitely prefer ... especially over rips since images allow you to get an exact copy of the release... like the entire game disc including all the movies and sounds ...

I definitely know that there are many of these files on Kazaa ...especially off the Donkey network .....

Does anybody know how I can find these files quickly ... They hardly show up under software .. since they are not considered under this category .... unless some smart sharer has renamed the file with an .exe extension ...

When you search under the "Everything" category, there is no way to search under a specific heading like "Title" or "Artist" .. Instead searches for .bin files bring up a lotta crap like results for Bin Laden ...

I believe that we owe it to our file sharing community to rename bin and iso files with an exe extension or do something else ....

EMule is light years ahead of KAzaa on this ... It has a specific search category for CD images .. One of the main reasons I use it .. It's just that I would like for us to be able to bring over the quality of files off the donkey network, so that it can be combined with the speed on Fasttrack ...

Any thoughts out there on this?

I gave up using Kazaa Lite for trying to download ISO's,BIN's etc ye know.... game type stuff.

At the end of the day you have to realise (well I did) Kaz is good...but not without it's problems.

IMHO I belive Kazaa is fundamentally flawed when it comes to 'big' downloads.... as far as I know (which isn't much BTW!) Kazaa doesn't have any error correction, or at least none that compare with E Donkey/Mule. I've had ten times as much success downloading ISO's from EMule than Kazaa, God knows I've wasted plenty CD-R's trying to burn stuff that was total FUBAR

So Defsharer, you seem to have come to this conclussion already, so why even bother with KazaA Lite? Just keep using Edonkey/Mule ;) ....I know I am

or ZIP/RAR them maybe?

ONe program you might concider using if your getting FUBAR and your CD burns of ISO iumages etc is Cdimage it allows you to open the ISO up lie a zip file and EVEN check the filer for errors BEFORE you burn and in some cases can even fix them I did that with one game and had over 500 errors on the ISO file so of coarse was able to aviod messing up a disk.

Also if you want to check out an image file before you burn...then try Daemon Tools (http://www.daemon-tools.com/) which creates a virtual CD rom drive for you to test stuff before burning.....which is nice!

I especially like this suggestion Colt ..... this is definitely a nice workaround if people start doing it ...
