The record companies are talking about "smart cd's" that would allow you to make maybe 2 or 3 copies for yourself and that's it. Two comments.
What incentive will consumers have to abandon file sharing and buy cd's if their freedom will be restricted?
Some computer geek will probably come up with some kind of decryption software two days after they come up with this technology, of that I am sure.
