Is there any organization out there that helps people who are viciously being hunted down by the RIAA? How hard would it be to set up a legal defense fund?

There are some non-profit sites setup to educate people, but I don't know how they could setup a legal defense fund without donations. Check this (http://www.eff.org/) out. B)

i don't understand what you mean.
it's in my rights to have legal representation if i get arrested, isn't it? :( [/b][/quote]
If you cannot afford one, one will be appointed to you. So if you have a house, a car, or anything of value, the court will require you to put it up as collateral to pay for your legal defense. If you are truly poor, and have nothing, you can apply for a court appointed attorney (public defender). Usually these guys have DWI and parking tickets. Do you really want them handling your Federal case on copyright violation?

If they were any good, would they be Public Servants?
OK, yes, I know that some do it because they have a vocation.........but most coz no one else will hire them.

I actually used a public Defender when I was a juvenile. You know what his advice was? Plead guilty and beg for the mercy of the court.
I was a very smart kid. Too bad my lawyer was not. There was no proof against me except "word" and any good lawyer can get you out of that.
