I want to download movies and burn the so I can watch them on a DVD player. Is this possible?
what files should I look for to do this?
what do I change the file name too before burning it to make the DVD?

First off p2p done this way is free, if you paid please insert your sign into the signature section of your controls. This will help us interact with you in the future. :D
Just kidding, but you better have not paid for anything, other than an ISP for getting on the internet.
Next, as I suggested to you via the PM, review the FAQ section as well as perform a few searches about DVD ripping and as you are totally bent on using them in a DVD player you are going to want to search for VCD's as well. You asked about a weeks worth of questions in a single post, I suggest you take it slower, have patience and things will eventually come to fruition. I am sure as people reply, answers will be forthcoming, however not all at once, beyond telling you to read the FAQ and check out the search option, just way to many different ways to do what you are asking. Good luck.

ok a few things.
1) you shouldnt paid
2) dont cancel uploads, if you wnat to download, they are just users like you trying to get movies. see?
3) you need to convery to (x/s)vcd format to play on dvd players. doom9 and vcdhelp are good places to start
google, google, google!

Rayzor, the first thing you need to do is:
Click here to visit our F.A.Q. page.
Then you need to be a bit more specific.
Unfortunately the whole avi or Mpeg to DVD playable format (VCD or SVCD or CDVD) issue is a bit tricky, so I'll wait until you've read that FAQ and then respond back on the board.
You'll find a lot of people willing to help here.
BTW this board costs zip...nada...nothing! :)

Yeahm you are. Just relax, pay attention and do some research. Everything you are after is here, just need to first learn how to look and where then learn each of things you have requested. My personal opinion is that currently unless you have a DVD burner, making CD's that play in a DVD player lessens the Quality of the fianl product to much for me. I would suggest spend a few bucks on a Video card with TV out (cheaper and cheaper each day) and a long (as long as you need) S-video cable and direct connect the PC to your TV, skipping the DVD player. I do this and enjoy crisp clean video watching all of the time. So far none of the attempts I or my friends have made on VCD's have made us jump for joy. Encoding them can take an extremely obnoxious amount of time for poor Quality viewing compared to direct video hhok-up from PC. Even if it is a long way between PC and TV, several of my pals have bought Video switching boxes and placed them mid way, so as to enable the use of 2 shorter s-vid cables instead of paying massive dough for a special order length. My opinion however, they do differ on this forum.

direct connect the PC to your TV,
never thought of this, i have a g3, which has video out, lol, to the cable shop i go!!!

I also use the TV out & to assist in my viewing enjoyment. I purchased a cheap Packard Bell Fast Media remote online for around $10 and software for $20 and the cord to the receiving unit is just long enough to go from the back of my computer to around the corner not far from my TV. My computer is my DVD & video player (and music center) and I can control it remotely from my couch. Cool deal.

My vid card came with an s-vid cable. alot of newer tv's and av receivers have it as well. If you don't have something like that, you can get something from best buy that'll work for pretty cheap, I think.

read the manual of your pc (i hate to do that myself to). I'm pretty sure Dell put something with it about you're videocard. You can read there if you're videocard has an video-in option. Most card only have video out (from pc to tele).
