Posted by: Mariosh

hi ive seen that many trackers dont like utorrent any more bcause
it has been bought and i wanna ask what client u should use now ??

Posted by: zaphodiv

Azureus still seems to be popular

Posted by: JPaul

Sorry, I wasn't aware of this, what's the problem with utorrent.

Posted by: Sissoko

They've been sold to Bram Cohen

http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=17278

Posted by: direstraits

i still use it
nothing has changed :)

Posted by: General2k

Still number one in my books.
Dont know what the future holds though.

I read about a new low resource client on the TB forums.

hi ive seen that many trackers dont like utorrent any more

What trackers?

utorrent v1.6 is fine ..so far..

Posted by: thesixthsensor

so whats the problem?

Posted by: pickedlast

should be interesting to see what direction the company takes. but utorrent 1.6 is plenty good even w/o future upgrades. i'm keeping an eye on ktorrent myself.

Posted by: jackherrer1

Actually, trackers dont have a problem with version 1.6 abd above.

Posted by: theincredible

i think the bitcomet is very fast and better than utorrent

Posted by: TYPE R

fine 4 me no problem

Posted by: Appzalien

Since utorrent doesn't have an auto update function, you should'nt have to worry about it. If it comes out with some new shady functions then just stick to the older ones and don't upgrade. If a client were to be released with spyware or something to help the authorities track you down, it would be all over the net in a flash. That kind of tactic would only be good for a few days and would never work again.

Posted by: Hairbautt

hi ive seen that many trackers dont like utorrent any more
What trackers have banned/discarded utorrent 1.6?

Posted by: jelll

yeah i haven't had a problem with utorrent with any of my trackers either

Posted by: x24

fine 4 me no problem

Posted by: phrenzy

Azureus seems to be the one Banned at alot of trackers because it's so easy to cheat w/... I have not seen a tracker that has problems w/ Utorrent at all..

Posted by: gustafo

uTorren is still the best!

Posted by: thestarofdeath

It really doesnt matter to be, out with the old in the with the new. Utorrent will probley die, but by the time that happens there will already be a better alternative.

Posted by: scrambler

i hope it doesnt get banned. i've gotten pretty used to utorrent now. never had probs with azureus which was my number one client before so if it does get banned, i'll go back to azureus.

Posted by: loveblind

I'm still using it. It's pretty good

Posted by: kavalchuk17

as long as you stick to 1.6, it's the same so theres no problem.

Posted by: thebazzla

i used bitcomet for a while swapped to utorrent doesnt seem to slow your computer up quite as much as the others

Posted by: bexarif

ive not had any problems with utorrent - so much better than the v poor clients i previously used...

Posted by: EFS

No !!! i love utorrent it`s vry easy and good to use it and save

Posted by: bombi

love it to .. its the best program for downloading torrents.

Posted by: faresalandlos

yes u torrent is the best tillnow

Posted by: imapotato

While it doesn't have every feature under the sun like, say, Azureus it offers a great balance between feature richness and stability while remaining lightweight. I haven't had any trouble at any tracker with it.

Posted by: Pelorus

utorrent is still the best

Posted by: zivmay

utorrnet is very good but also Azureus, but utorrnet is better:]

Posted by: LinkS v2.0

http://www.bluetack.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=16009
The creator of utorrent keeps messing up

Posted by: Niteghost

uTorrent is still one of my FAVOURITE Torrents client, Dude.

Posted by: Tvixer

Utronnet is grate......
and big speed

Posted by: catalyst05

azureus is bad for giving error (firewall and freeze the pc) its reaaly bs. but utorrent god of torrent client :D. i dont worry about utorrent

Posted by: Eny-

Using uTorrent. No problems :)

Posted by: DanB

i've not had a problem with utorrent or seen it banned anywhere.

Posted by: jelll

utorrent is still the best.

Posted by: JigSaw

ei people utorrent is the best client i haver had i have utilised bitlord and bitcomet but utorrent is the best

Posted by: 0ctane

i use utorrent 1.6 but won't be updating it coz RIAA bought it .
When 1.6 gets banned from trackers i'll use new Az as it uses less memory than utorrent now w00t .

Posted by: rbh

was using bittorrent until i found utorrent. have really enjoyed it and have noticed quicker downloads. i am going to try azureus as well, but my filesharing machine is a dinosaur POS. filesharing is all it is good for and if azureus is as big of a resource hog as i hear from lots of people it may kill it.

Posted by: stoma

utorrent is the best client ...it works with all trackers...

Posted by: kabloomz

well...

considering it was bought out by the BT creator... who now collaborates with the mpaa... this will suck majorly because utorrent could have some hidden features for mpaa agents, they mite incorporate DRM's, etc.... maybe be good for the new features they are talking about.. but for filesharing this would be bad...

then again the BT protocol could be updated to suit the needs of the mpaa... even worse.. :dabs:

Posted by: deputysalty

That's why you don't update, kalboomz. Stick to 1.6.

Posted by: albertadj

Thanks for the advice. I will stick to the older utorrent. Best out there in my humble opinion. Shame to hear about the big money trying yet again to stick it to the little guy.

Posted by: kabloomz

That's why you don't update, kalboomz. Stick to 1.6.

well didn't plan to... but the protocol could still be updated... i am sure the original developer knows this dilema... and i am sure he is racking his brain to figure out a way to work this out...

the irony

Posted by: Curlz31

utorrent is clearly the best overall client imo. I have used Bitcomet, BitTorrent and Azureus. All seemed to be slower and Bitcomet and Azureus noticeably slowed down my system. It is unfortunate it was bought out, however I'm sure if there is a problem, programmers will jump on it and produce something better.

Posted by: andreqm

I agree...I have already tried Azureus, Bitcomet, Bittorrent, and know utorrent...
And I feel im gonna stick to it until something better comes up, because nowadays, I have no doubt about it...it's the best one out there..

Posted by: tcas

I've never heard of any tracker banning utorrent, which is why I use it.

Posted by: arkoaction

I hope in future uTorrent would be better!

Posted by: deputysalty

We all hope so. Check out this interview with Bram Cohen.
http://torrentfreak.com/interview-with-bram-cohen-the-inventor-of-bittorrent/

Quotes

TorrentFreak: What was the main reason behind the acquisition of uTorrent?
Bram Cohen: uTorrent has both an impressively clean codebase and large user community, although we were already working on our own C++ implementation. Moving forward, you’ll see announcements related to BitTorrent being embedded on silicon and on non-PC hardware thanks to the new C codebase we have (based on uTorrent and our protocol extensions)."

TorrentFreak: Are their plans to remove any of the present features uTorrent has?
Bram Cohen: No, uTorrent users are quite happy with it, and we wish to keep things that way. In fact, be on the lookout for a Mac and Unix port, which we have the resources to do thanks to the size of our engineering team.

TorrentFreak: Will the uTorrent client be integrated into the BitTorrent Video Store?
Bram Cohen: We’re going to launch our entertainment network with support for whichever BitTorrent client the user wishes to install.

So, hopefully he won't go out an commercialize it.

Posted by: ckyduff

They used to have issues with earlier versions, but utorrent is quite great, espeacially with the remote administration tool..

Adding torrents from work/friends is quite good. Allthough i use RDP mostly, its sometimes easier to just throw one file up via utorrent web interface.

Scheduler is the shit, i just hope they don't bloat the software too much.

Posted by: dkra2004

Works for me

Posted by: ByteBitten

It still works fine. Hopefully updates won't do anything drastic but we can always use the older versions..

Posted by: BillStruth

i used Azureus in the past, and only changed to Utorrent recently. if Utorrent was ever banned i would have no problem going back to. as long as you spend a little time configuring settings on Azureus you should have no problems with it. the only reason i changed from it, is because it is a bit of a resource hog.

Posted by: mathieuleplusbeau

utorrent is still the best

Posted by: kalpesh

i dont like utorrent if i have bittorret tracker website
plz dont ask why

Posted by: smiley001

still the best for me!

Posted by: ikdedinges

i used utorrent but i slowed down my internet conection too much..
with azureus i do'nt have this problem but i download with the same speed

Posted by: Rollin84

i used utorrent but i slowed down my internet conection too much..
with azureus i do'nt have this problem but i download with the same speed

its alllll in your settings...

Posted by: bcpnikhil

I like Azureus's MASSIVE plugin base. It's def a resource hog though.

Posted by: Smith111

works fine for me

Posted by: Hairbautt

Trust me, the moment uTorrent goes bad (bad version, tracker ban), it'll most likely be in the news.

Posted by: Notor|ous

Utorrent is the best p2p program

Posted by: pjvedder

hi ive seen that many trackers dont like utorrent any more bcause
it has been bought and i wanna ask what client u should use now ??

Ive used utorrent and I have had noo problems whatsoever:blink:

Posted by: lovemuscle

ive never had probs with utorrent either

Posted by: jackwho

Utorrent is the best p2p program

x2:)

Posted by: apoorv123

AZUREUS 2.5.0.4 or utorrent 1.6 both rocks
bitcomet sux

Posted by: kello

i still use it
nothing has changed :)

word.. when(if) the bad changes comes. I will change, prob to azerues

Posted by: anak

utorrent is the best: i'm seeding 32 files and dlin 1 w/ dht enabled... @ only 9.8mb ram. there have been tests and utorrent's speeds are just as good as azureus

Posted by: dipsdude

Utorrent is the best :D

Posted by: chaptorrent

till now it works fine no prob

Posted by: TorrentJunky

uTorrent is the best client going ;)

Posted by: StriderZ

Yup! No problems here :-D. Much better than the memory hogging clients out there...

Posted by: OmaRin0

i didn't see any tracker that said the don't like utorrent

Posted by: Friendly Fire

There is no reason not to use utorrent. Remarkable how good this little peace of software is.

Posted by: aymangreadlee

utorrent is the best

Posted by: damned123

Azureus is the best

Posted by: damned123

loads of options

Posted by: damned123

uttorrent is ok i guess simple to use tho

Posted by: kittie217

i like utorrent better.

Posted by: lovemuscle

anak why u have dht enabled???

Posted by: weenden

utorrent works fine for me too!

Posted by: UVRay

utorrent is exactly what I need no more, no less, hope they don't bugger it up, but if they do there will be another lightweight client which comes along to replace it.

Posted by: weenden

i dont no i still like utorrent it works for me

Posted by: Romeo26222

utorrent works fine for me too!

Posted by: Finn_1337

I think I do remember reading some things a few months ago, people were getting paranoid about the future of utorrent. I guess the potential of it being corrupted and used for more than managing p2p. The whole "selling out to the man" perception. And also protection of user privacy issues, spyware, etc...

Posted by: yaheard

1.6 is working fine just dont update.

Posted by: torrentmaster

i think azurues is the best now

Posted by: Temp2007

I proved Azureus,BitComet and uTorrent.

uTorrents is the best!! :P

Posted by: viperain

utorrent is the best. some site dont like the 1.6.1 but u can stay for now in the 1.6 version

Posted by: Charmig_latino

i still use it in every good tracker i have, have no problems

Posted by: filli

I use utorrent on my laptop, bitcomet on my pc... i think i like bitcomet better

Posted by: Timer

I use utorrent on my laptop, bitcomet on my pc... i think i like bitcomet better
I think bitcomet sometimes sends false info to the tracker, which could be interpreted as cheating....
Anyway, I use utorrent and have had no problems.

Posted by: zouhair

I'll stick with utorret 1.6 for still sometimes

Posted by: overseas

must use 1.6. Dont change version

Posted by: mestari

1610 does the job very well. No problems so far.

Posted by: GhettoPlayer

must use 1.6. Dont change version

but they gonna ban u bacause u still using a old version, right?

Posted by: Dahg

those of you that have tried the others (particularly azureus), what MAKES Utorrent better in YOUR opinion?

Posted by: viralend

@dahg
Probably the fact that azureus might not be trustworthy. Their client was found to send your ISP name, download, and upload data to "ae2.aelitis.com". At first they made excuses about it. Then they admitted to it, and said it would be removed from future versions except 3.x.x.x.. Also, their new content partner Zudeo is bad news. Also utorrent takes less memory than azureus. :D

Posted by: temagna

i use utorrent as well no issued here

Posted by: DrAgOn

i use utorrent is the best and very fast

Posted by: syd5705

torrent v1.6 is fine
I'm using now..

Posted by: shar

best and very fast

Posted by: catalyst05

Now corrected some problem on 1.6.1 but hasnt realy best fast. im still using 1.6 version.

Posted by: Punxunite

using 1.6
best bit torrent client imo. it would be a shame if they would sold out

Posted by: GhettoPlayer

using 1.6
best bit torrent client imo. it would be a shame if they would sold out

they would not to that :D

Posted by: yoyogi4

well utorrent worked on one torrent that Bitlord didn't or any other client by that matter!!

Not quite true...

Posted by: zipzap

Hi folks. My Utorrent stopped working recently, although it might not be a Utorrent problem since I use it in a library.

Please read this thread (http://filesharingtalk.com/vb3/bittorrent/t-file-sharing-library-wifi-161477) where I posted my problem.

And please help me if you can.

BTW, I agree that Utorrent is the best - just because it's not a resource hog. I've used ABC and it was a big hog.

Posted by: kardo

Azureus is best for me

Posted by: Dunax

I can't see why utorrent would be banned from public/private trackers unless it was doing something to mess up the torrent protocol(s). V1.6 is working fine for me with no hassles whatsoever. I've heard of other programs out there that actually cheat the other clients in a torrent and only pull down data and never share.

Posted by: kakta

on the trackers i'm on they recommed it ?

Posted by: Empoy

use azureus instead..

Posted by: diablo1231

i will try

Posted by: ArchStanton

utorrent 1.6 is meant to have an exploit that allows hackers to manipulate torrent files causing a buffer overflow at the targets computer which would make it possible to execute code on it allowing them to put a virus onto the computer memory. utorrent 1.61 has fixed that problem.

Posted by: name in use

well from what i know,im using utorent 1.6 build 474,they got one build higher that is good, after that i think they have something in the actual program that lets the RIAA see what your grabbing or thats the rumor,im happy with what im using and dont see a reason to change.

Posted by: merlinz

what version on Utorrent is "Safe"? I just found out abiht torrents till not been using lime wire. OMG look what i have missed! LOL

Posted by: redball

i think utorrent still the best until now. cuz it's using less PC resources. Azureus sucks need more RAM resources.

Posted by: ghostfreak

utorrent seems fine for me so far on a lot of trackers.

Here's a link to a detailed FAQ on the subject:

Thanks, that's good to know. I wonder if switching back to 1.6 would solve my problem? Do you know where I can D/L it?

EDIT: never mond, I found it here (http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=utorrent).

Posted by: bcbeast

Good to know. I'll look into it. Thanks for the post's.

Posted by: overheat

it works normally with me

Posted by: jkashuba07

Yea I have yet to have a problem with utorrent!

Posted by: zipzap

Well, Switching back to version 1.6 didn't change anything. I still can't D/L anything in the library.

I think I'll try Azureus.

Posted by: markyp23

Actually, trackers dont have a problem with version 1.6 abd above.

I've never heard of tracker problems and I'm going to keep using it. If Bram Cohen ruins it, we can still use the current version anway.

Posted by: beco

whats the problem ???

Posted by: W13

UTorrent is working great for me since the beginning.

Posted by: ejac

Reading the forum entries on utorrent i cant find anything that would be bad for the users, nor trackers...
They are just trying to make the best product they can.

Posted by: gogurles

well..
i like and i use utorrent but there is another powerfull clint i prefer its bitspirit so try to use it and pm me with your openion about it

Posted by: FaStHeRo

i use utorrent and found it good

Posted by: Empoy

me too.. its not a memmory hog..

Posted by: decker

for me i use both Azureus and Utorrent

Posted by: G1adiator

i use uTorrent and is the best for the moment

Posted by: Fortech

azureus ftw

Posted by: amiswoop

I just switched from azureus to utorrent and found it perfect for my needs :)

Posted by: mecca30uk

Posted by: RUSSEL

i like utorrent with gud results.

Posted by: relik

utorrent is good

Posted by: bugmenot7

Still number one in my books

Posted by: TorrenTy

almost all good private tracker i know , do prefer utorrent as bittorrent client .

Posted by: Blue_Skies

I prefer Azureus, but am not saying that uTorrent is bad.

All trackers I'm on recommend one of the two

Posted by: djpalmiery

utorrent is the best ....next...azureus
