Policy on password protected files?

Does it mather if we post a password protected release on this board (and of course supply the password)?
The reason I'm asking is that there are some password protected releases, and I would (for later) also be interested in password protecting a few of my own uploads for various reasons.
Just to have that cleared up right away: I'm NOT interested in having a bunch of usenet releases password protected as I think everything should be available for everyone.

I'll assume you mean rar passworded files, tons of those around. I see no reason why not; there are various reasons why things are, and then the passwords are eventually released; with the high retention rate of servers these days, and getting more so all the time, I don't see why not, when the passwords are eventually released that those outside the 'in' group get dibs as well.
