Participation Level

I'm having trouble getting my head round the participation level after switching from kazaa. I generally leave my pc full time on for others to share and my level has increased to over 200 however if i download 1 file it plummets.
I read on the faq that you can increase the pl by downloading from yourself but couldnt get it to work - any ideas??

You can use the cheater, it only works with v2.0
