Pretty easy...go here (http://here). Download winace, install the program, then just right click and extract the .tar file in question.

.tar files are usually used in unix/linux systems

A tar file is just one of the many forms of compression, like a zip file.

tar does not compress, as far as i know it is just a way to combine mulitple files into one.

But ravendark is pretty right, most of the file programs to decompress in linux primarirly do tar files. just use win rar or some other tool like winzip and make sure you associate .tar files into the program when it gives you the option.
rapidly?!?!? lol

You use compression utilities to open tar files.............gzip, winrar, and so on. So I would say they fit into that category. That is of course unless you know of any tool that isnt used to decompress or compress files that is used to open tar files. Please enlighten me if so, if not then shut the fuck up!!!
