Need help with a ps2 game

I have a slim ps2 with a chip, and I recently downloaded Final Fantasy XII from torrent leech. After burning it I tried playing it, but the game gets stuck after showing the "Playstation" logo, then there is nothing but a black screen.

I'm not an expert on those machines with chips as I have swap magic, but have you tried burning with decent media, tried cogswap etc?

Edit: Trying new media, it still doesn't work, and I tried 2 other games, 1 has the same problem and the other got stuck when I tried loading a saved game. When these problems accur, sometimes instead a "Please insert a playstation disc" message appears instead. Please, this is driving me insane.
