Actually, its quite grotesque. What's the deal? Have you thought about
turning ads off for members? (members don't see ads, people without a
login cookie see them)

I didn't think it was you, lad. (prolly, teh owner of teh site) You're too

err, why do you ask

Posted by: brotherdoobie

Have you thought about an ads free experience; for registered members.
It could work and not affect ad revenue, by much. In the long run it
wouldn't at all. (at all)

I'm not really in charge of the ads, reality and rookie are.
Maybe reality an give you an answer...

I know we were changing the ads around a while back to get more money so that we could upgrade teh server, but i'm not sure what ever happened with that...

The real question is still why we have it at all.

Having the forum index as the default home page would be better.

Only time I ever see the home page is when I'm on someone else's computer and can't remember the whole url to go directly to the index 'cos I'm drunk or something. And I know I'm far from the only one who doesn't care for that page.

Not saying we need to toss the work they've put into it away, like, there could be a link called "portal" or something at the top of the forum to the current home page.

Oh, and adblock is your friend.
