There is another version of virtual dub that says it has vbr support. Scroll down on this link (http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/downloads/virtualdub.html)and look for vdub_mp3_freeze.zip

go to vcdhelp.com it has all the info u need. and that message u ask about, it wont affect anything. i use vdub and that pop up everytime i open a video file but every of the svcd i burn were perfect. if u want to burn svcd (mpeg-2) there is another version of vdub for it. its also in vcdhelp.com
