FTN gave away invites

To increase activity on site, Staff has decided to let some fresh faces in and increase our userbase to 6k. Invites have been handed out automatically to FTN Power+ (with an exception of ones who have lost their invite privileges). Please be advised if you are caught making dupes and trades, this will be subject to a ban. Invite those who you know and trust.

@poliser. Site can handle the load and more.. it's the routing thats the problem. You get the bad with the good. For better security, people have to deal with routing issues.

Well, invites were available from Power+ so it's not something super fascinating. Basically they've just given out instead of wait for people to ask for it as it was before.

Yeah, i theres not much point getting excited, cos out of the ~4k users they have now, id say only a small percentage are power+, and they only get 1 more invite, like the above poster said all power+ users have invites anyway.

Why do you think that there are so many invites flowing around?
There was just 1invite given to every FTN power and above (which means upload>200GB and old member) and these members had already the possibility to request 1invite if they wanted to...
I don't know how many of the members are ftn power and above but I really doubt it that they are all going to use their invites.
And I doubt it even more that a large percentage of these members are FST traders and will endanger their own account by selling their invites.
So, what do you really make you think that there are 1000invites flowing around and you just have to grab them?
I really doubt it that even the old limit of 5000members will be reached with that 1invite to certain old members...

never had any speed or ratio problems at ftn, my connection isnt that great but i keep good ratios.
ftn lost oneof its main goals to be very intimate community and secret as much as possible:cry:

I think what they are doing is necessary for the survival of the tracker increased user base means more people willing to donate. More leechers and seeders means betters speeds and longer life of the torrent.

i think it is hard to get into FTN.. user base is small and invites don't help to get into.. however invites are very expensive and to get one is really hard..
