Pictures Don't Load In Forum

I just set up my website and took pics and gifs from there. They worked for a while, but were not showing after a while. What am I doing wrong? Can you see my gifs to the left and right of the copy one in my signature?

They worked coz you had them in your cache. You can't link to certain sites cause they block it. Put em somewhere else. (from what I remember from other boards, it is geocities, angelfire etc it's very easy to block ways of accessing files)

I am using Geocities. I am mad because I spent all day loading sh*t up in there. Is there anything I can do. From what you said, it is yahoo blocking this boards access to my file. In that case, there is no way to get my stuff in here unless I pay for a site.

Danne was correct. My web host doesn't allow links to it or pasting items taken from my site into others, such as forums like this one. I was in violation so they took them back. That is why some of you saw them for a short period of time and others didn't. Yahoo sucks the big one. Good thing I didn't spend too much time on that project.
So who knows sites that offer free web hosting and will allow me to do what I wish with my items on their site?. It seems that a lot of you have nice gifs and pics to post. I wish I could too.

It's a free site where you can upload pics from your harddrive, it works with UBB codes.
Only thing: I can't manage it to work...
Uploading pics is no problem, but when I want to use them on this board I get an error message.
Maybe one of you guys can find out how to do it right?
I think it must be simple, but I'm no computer wizzard. :blink:

I just glanced at this link and I conclude that the reason why you are getting an error is because the pics don't make up the page, the htm makes up a page. This forum accepts URL's for pics that look like this:
www.website.compic.jpg
If you link to a page that looks like this:
www.website.compic.jpg.something.htm
it will cause an error and that pic will not show. I am not sure on the URL lingo, but I have experienced that error before. However, your suggested link hold pics like the second example.
Thanks for the link though. The site is pretty cool anyway.

Do you know is there any other way of uploading the files to geocities than with their file manager? It takes a lot of time, especially if you have like 200 files to upload.
Have you found a free web hosting yet?

Yes, we have been talking about that one before in this topic. :)
But as Mobboss01 was saying, it seems to be impossible to use it for posting pictures on this board.
Just telling to save you the disillusion and work for nothing... B)

Yahoo Geocities stopped their free users using their own FTP clients last April, the only way to get access to their FTP servers now is to become a paid subscriber.

It works for me but only sometimes I can log in and upload pictures cause most of the time I got the same message too about "Welcome....."
