animated gifs have stopped moving in my browser [IE6] Rat Faced doesn't gesture anymore my avatar won't spin and more importantly jetje has stopped bouncing! :o

my avatar and sig files work when i view them from my hard-drive, and i've tried deleting the temporary internet files, to no avail. :(

when i try looking in opera 5.12 i don,t see any avatars or sigs at all? [what's with that?] :(

i know it isn't a debilitating situation but it's annoying me alot, does anyone know what is going on? :(

please help me :: i want jetje bouncing again ;)

i don't know if this is the right section 4 this [i'm sure a mod will let me know though]

Softwareworld would be a better place for this - you might get more responses there.

I have no idea about your problem myself. Sorry...

try typing

ipconfig/flushdns

into command prompt (dos)

why would clearing his dns cache help?

i would recommend you clear out your internet cache sometimes it causes problem if it is too big.

and also check in your internet explorer advanced settings to see if animation is ticked. ;)

I am having the exact same problem.
Typing ipconfig/flush dns does nothing.
I can't think of any configuration changes I might have made to account for this.
I too miss Jetje bouncing.

I just tried all of 4-play's recommendations to no avail.

it's worked for me a few times in the past

should it not work?

it just flushes out all the adresses that your system remembers for quicker access.

its ipconfig /flushdns with a space.

there is a probelem with xp remembering incorrect addies as well as good ones, so flushing it now and again does not do any harm.

edit: do you all run zonealarm by any chance and do you have the stop animated gif's at frame 1 by any chance?

Yes, I do run ZA, but it's never been a prob before.
