How much do you download in a month?
Reality's thread was 2.5 years old, and I know I download a lot more than I did then, so....NEW POLL! :01:

I think this month I have downloaded 12.5GB so far, on average I'd say it's usually about 25GB a month. :) Will be more when I get an external HD and a faster connection.

I just upgraded my data plan from 36gb per month to 150gb per month, I am gonna need to apply myself so I can use that data limit!
Wow some people download a fair bit 100gb +, what connection do you have? and also what types of files/stuff do you guys download.
I download mostly TV shows, Movies, Applications... most are DVD/HDTV rips.

I guess the questions depends on 'personal' use or 'seed box' use. Personally, I download around 40GB per month, with my Seed box, i download anything up to around 1TB! Its the only way to earn some upload credit with some trackers...

I just checked today, and my overall stats said I've downloaded about 170GB total in the last 4-ish months when I reinstalled my OS.
So that's not too much... well.. compared to some people, it seems like plenty to me.
What really cracks me up is, I have 230GB uploaded in that time... it took me 4 months of ULing constantly, some people can do that in 10 days or less :pinch:

I would say a min of about 6gbs. I don't even keep alot of the stuff that I get. About half of the time it is just music that I am checking out, and end up not liking it, so I just delete it. The other half are multi thousand dollar programs that some poor team has been working on for the last 5 years, and now I'm using for free. One day I will get legit copies, but right now I am to much of an noob to pay for these high dollar programs to get my moneys worth. So, I will wait.

Movie a day when there is something worth downloading.
Add to that all my music and apps etc, And its possible to go over 200 in a month, But not too often :)

I think I shooting for around 30 gigs this month. Its been a slow month for me. But I know I have hit around 150gigs in a month. But overall I would say I average around 40 to 50 gigs a month. It just really depends on what my intrest are that month.

I would say probably 10GB of torrents on average. This is mostly just TV shows that I miss and the occasional Music album.
However, there are months, like this month, where I get hooked on a TV show and download every episode from all 5 seasons in 2 days. That puts me over 30GB.
I probably would download a lot more if:
1) I had a faster upload speed and could seed stuff better. It takes me a good week to get 1.0 on a 4GB download. (I don't seed overnight tho, paranoid of MPAA)
2) I actually had time to watch that much TV/movies.

Well this month I downloaded enough to piss off my ISP (Comcast), since they suspended my account for bandwidth abuse. Apparently 1 terabyte puts you in the top 1/10 of 1% of bandwidth users (what they told me) and that equals a warning/suspension. I was warned to cut back or be banned for 1 year.
All my downloads are on Usenet. No bit torrent or porn. I live in the US and just bought a new DVD player that plays PAL and NTSC (under $100 @ Best Buy) so I had to go back and download all the movies I though I wasn't able to get before.
I used to download about 400 gb on powerusenet but on Giganews I have stepped it up with the 200 day retention. Last year with Bittorrent I would DL less than 50 gb a month. Its all Comcast's fault for throttling my torrent traffic and making me search elsewhere for downloads.
